Heat Emboss With Makeup

October 5, 2019

Happy World Card Making Day. I have a new tutorial for you on sharing how to heat emboss your cards with makeup! Yes, you read that correct…makeup!  This is such a cool way to add color to your card instead of ink or regular embossing powder.  Since I have retired, I don’t wear a lot of makeup anymore so it was just sitting there waiting to be used from something else.  Today tutorial is all about using your makeup as just another tool for your crafting happiness.

So here is the card we are going to create today.  Look how gorgeous it looks against the makeup palette.  I could just stare at this all day. 😂 The simple things that make me happy in this world. Heat emboss cards just look so much cooler I think. So why not heat emboss with makeup?

Heat Emboss With Makeup

You will see in the tutorial just how easy this is to create.  The possibilities is really endless here on the color combinations you can create.  The stamp I’m using today is from Sunny Studios and it’s called Elegant Leaves.  This is such a pretty stamp set and as soon as I saw it I had to have it in my crafty stash.

Heat Emboss Your Card With Makeup

As you can see in this photo you not only get color with this technique, you also get some texture as well.  That’s what I really enjoy about the sticky embossing powder.  It leaves some granulation behind that you can feel on your card.  (CAUTION: Do not overhead this embossing powder).  I’ll share my tip on how to make sure you keep that granulation in the video. So onto the video. You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I’ve used affiliate links for your convenience at no cost to you. Want to see other tutorials from me? Genuine Watercolor Pens Review

August 22, 2019

Hey everyone.  Today I have a Genuine Watercolor Pens review for you.  The company reached out to me to do a review of their watercolor pens and I accepted. Let me begin by saying,  I always give my honest opinion of any product I share with you. My integrity will not allow me to say something is good if it’s not.  I’ll be sampling these markers on different brands and thickness of papers for a good start.  You can find the pens on Amazon.

Let’s get right into the review.  Remember anytime you are creating, take several things into consideration.  The medium you are using as well as the paper matters.  I have several watercolor papers and two bristol papers in this video.  You will need to see which works best for your style of coloring. A small correct on the paper I used in the video.  It’s STONEHENGE not STONEHEDGE.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I’ll see you back here soon.

Glitz Glitter Gel – Customized Colors

August 18, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m back today sharing a card make with Glitz Glitter Gel.  I’ve customized my colors for this card and it was so easy to do.  Glitz glitter gel is one of my favorite products and it really allows you to get creative.  Here in my tutorial you will see how I customized my color palette using the gel and Brea Reese alcohol inks.  Let’s take a quick look at the card I made.

First let me say that the clear gel can be tinted to sooo many colors with other mediums.  The bonus is you don’t lose the sparkle of the gel at all.  That’s a win-win for sure.   Thermoweb and Gina K. have outdone themselves with this gel.  It comes in some of Gina’s ink and paper colors as well so it’s great to use with all her products.

Glitz Glitter Gel Customized Color

Let me give you some advice…GET ALL THE COLORS. 😂I know, full set syndrome speaking however they are just too gorgeous to not have on hand.  Again, you can mix the gel in with all your Brea Reese inks for custom colors at a snap.

Here’s a quick tutorial.  You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I’ve used affiliate links for your convenience at no cost to you.

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment and I will answer you back.  Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you back here soon.

Brea Reese Watercolor Review

August 15, 2019

Hey everyone.  Today on the blog I’m doing a Brea Reese watercolor review.  I have the watercolor tubes from Brea Reese and I wanted to pan them for a project.  Any time I get a new watercolor product I like to color swatch them and pan some to color with.  There are two different packages of Brea Reese watercolor tubes, Classic and Jewel.  I’m going to be sharing and swatching both today.

Here is a quick tutorial showing you how I pan my watercolors and how I swatch them.  It’s important to know the colors that you are working with and get familiar with them. Some paints may be more transparent than others and they also may have a higher or lower water content. So let’s get into the review. Products used for this tutorial are listed below for your shopping convenience.

Thanks for stopping by for this review. Remember what I mentioned in the tutorial.  Work with your paints to get the feel for them.  See how they respond to different papers and brushes.  Be curious about the products you purchase.  It helps with your creativity and overall happiness of using a product. Here as a link to tutorials I have here on my blog. Let’s get inspired to create.  Make sure to come back later today as I’ll have a sneak peek for you from Pink and Main.

(DISCLAIMER: THESE PAINTS HAVE A HIGHER WATER CONTENT SO THEY MAY CRACK WHEN YOU PAN A LARGE AMOUNT.  IF YOU ARE PANNING A PALETTE, I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST INCLUDING A DROP OR TWO OF GLYCERIN INTO THE PAINT, MIXING IT WELL AND THEN LETTING IT AIR DRY IN YOUR PALETTE.  IF YOU ARE ONLY USING A SMALL AMOUNT FOR A PROJECT I WOULDN’T WORRY ABOUT THE PAINT DRYING AND CRACKING.)
