Hero Arts Toucan No-Line Watercolor

July 19, 2022

Hey everyone. I’m sharing a simple no-line watercolor piece using the Hero Arts Toucan Bold Print.  I love this little guy. As you have heard me mention several times, I love watercoloring. It’s super peaceful for me to create and just let the water flow.

For this card, I first stamped the image with Hero Arts Contour ink onto Hero Arts Lux White watercolor paper. When using watercolor paper, you will need to stamp it multiple times since the paper has texture to it.

Now my toucan needed to be bright and vibrant in color. To help me achieve the color I wanted, I pulled out my mini palette of my favorite Daniel Smith watercolors. One thing to remember when doing no-line watercoloring, you can omit areas that you just don’t want to fill in with color or make certain images bigger by going outside of the line.

After I finished my watercoloring, I set the image aside to dry. Now it was time to trim down the piece and add a back panel that matched one of the colors int he painting. I used Hero Arts Peacock paper for my backer today.

The Peacock cardstock really pulled that gorgeous blue from the image out. Needing a simple sentiment, I stamped the birthday sentiment from the Hero Arts Cockatoo stamp set. Such a find sentiment for this card and others.

Thanks for stopping by today everyone. I hope I’ve inspired you to do a little bit of no-line watercoloring with Hero Arts products. Have a wonderful day and see you back here soon.

This hot foil plate also has a coordinating stencil you can use with it. To create the look of my card I first hot foiled the rose onto a piece of white cardstock. Next I blended the card panel with Altenew Mint Choc and Altenew Pistachio inks. Once the blending was complete, I used the coordinating stencil so I could add detail to the petals of the rose. This card is even prettier in real life. I used the new Sentiments Banner Hot Foil Plates to create my sentiment strip. To cut out the sentiment strip, I used the Sentiment Banners Cover Die to die cut each strip out. I’ll now have extra strips for future cards.

My next card is featuring the new Altenew Dotty Circles 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is just perfect for those quick and easy cards. All that was required to complete this card was a sentiment. I again used the Sentiments Banner Hot Foil Plate and coordinating dies. The sentiments from both cards are from the Sentiment Strips stamp set.

Hero Arts Mushroom and Ferns Fancy Dies

July 21, 2021

Hello everyone. Welcome back to the blog. Today I’m playing with the Hero Arts Mushroom and Ferns Fancy Dies. Now I must mention up-front that this stamp set is currently sold out. However, you can add your email to the product to be notified when it’s back in stock. When it’s back in stock, make sure to come back and visit to blog to be inspired to use it. Let’s get into the card.

This card was so easy to create, as I used the die cut piece of paper I used to cut out the die as a stencil. First, I laid down a layer of Field Green in three quarters of the way on the bottom portion of the card. Next, I used the paper stencil to stencil on random images of the fern in Hero Arts Forever Green ink. I loved this technique as it was so easy and make a striking background.

Hero Arts Mushroom and Ferns Fancy Die

Next, I die cut the ferns out several times from Hero Arts Dove White cardstock and adhered them together using Hero Arts Precision Glue XL. This gave my die cut some weight.

Now it was time to put this card together. I adhered the stenciled panel to a piece of Hero Arts Palm cardstock. Stamping a simple sentiment from the Hero Arts Magical Forest stamp set in Forever Green right above the stenciled area. All that was left was to add the stacked ferns.

Such a simple yet beautiful card. I would love to see how many color combinations you can come up with using this technique and the Hero Arts Mushroom and Ferns Fancy dies. I’ve linked all the products below for your shopping ease. Have a great day everyone.

Hero Arts Meadow Heroscape

July 15, 2021

Hey everyone. Today I’m sharing a card using the new Hero Arts Meadow Heroscape stamp set. This is such a beautiful and easy layering stamp set. Let’s get into the card.

Since this stamp set is so easy to line up you can easily make multiple cards at one by just switching out additional pieces of card stock. I started with Hero Arts Dove White cardstock and stamped my first layer in Hero Arts Lime Green ink. Next using the second layer I stamped the image in Hero Arts Fresh Lawn in. Now comes the layer that brings it all together. The third layer was stamped using Hero Arts Soft Purple Ink. I moved the stamped just a little and stamped again in Grape Juice ink.

Hero Arts Meadow Heroscape

Look how gorgeous this image already is. Using a few Copic markers I colored in the mushrooms in the detailed part of the stamp. Now it was time to add in the sky. I used a cloud stencil with Hero Arts Dusty Blue ink to build up all the beautiful clouds for the background.

All that was left was to stamp a sentiment in the Hero Arts Grape Juice ink and to add in just a few butterflies from the stamp set in Hero Arts Dandelion ink.

Finishing off the card, I trimmed down the colorful panel and placed in onto Hero Arts Meadow cardstock. I then adhered this panel to a Hero Arts Dove White card base. This card makes my heart so happy. I have linked all the products used for this card below for your shopping ease. I think you are going to love creating cards using the Hero Arts Meadow Heroscape stamp set. If you have any questions, please make sure to leave them in the comments and I’ll be happy to answer them for you.

Have a wonderful day everyone and I’ll see you back here soon.

Morning everyone. It's another day for valentine c Morning everyone. It's another day for valentine cards. In today's tutorial I made a trio of valentine cards from one background. This was so easy and so much fun to make. Where are my Distress Oxide Spray lovers?

With three colors of @tim_holtz Distress Oxide Sprays these cards were created. I don't have all the sprays and are "collecting" them little by little. The fear of using these sprays have been unleashed. 😂😂😂 After watching more and more videos from Tim, my nervousness of "messing it up" has been replaced by "oh that's so pretty".

By using just two die cuts from products from the January 2023 release from @heroarts

The link for the tutorial is in the bio and I hope I inspire you to start creating your Valentine's Day Cards.
