Hero Arts Summer Catalog 2023 Release

May 22, 2023

We are so EXCITED to share the new Hero Arts Summer Catalog 2023 Release with you today. There is so much goodness packed into this catalog. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. Let’s get into the cards I made.

I’m pleased to announce new additions to Hero Arts CommUNITY collection. My first card is featuring the Holding Together Cling Stamp. This stamp covers a full size card panel. You can watercolor this image with the Hero Arts Skin Tone Liquid Watercolors like I did here or you can color it with your favorite alcohol markers. Or what about ink blending your card panel? The Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder really sets off the watercolors nicely.

Next is the United People Hot Foil Plate. OMG when I saw this after production I almost fainted! This is absolutely one of my favorite images from the CommUNITY collection and I’m thrilled to it turned into a hot foil plate. Be still my to foil plate heart!

I knew when I saw this hot foil plate, it needed to be make a striking card. Hero Arts Nautical cardstock and gold foil made this work sooo well. However let me show you another way to use it.

For this card I paired the hot foil plate with rainbow foil and the new Zig Zag Texture Bold Print. Look how fun this faces are in rainbow color. I also die cut the panel using the new Scalloped Circle Infinity Dies.

Okay I have one more for you. LOL I know hot foil plate overload. Here is another rainbow panel I made. This time pairing it with a simple die cut heart and sentiment.

And for my last card of the day I used the new Together Stamp and Cut. This stamp set and die set also works perfectly with the Encouragement Sentiment Strips. The background texture on this panel was made using the Hero Arts Rough Dots Bold Print stamped into a layer of Hero Arts Glitter Paste. It gives such a great simple vibe to the card.

Giveaway: We’ll be giving away two $50 gift cards, drawn from the comments left along the hop. Comment on all the blogs for more chances to win! You have until Sunday, May 28 at 11:59pm to enter. The winners will be announced on the Hero Arts blog.

Okay next on the hop is Emily. I hope you enjoyed the Hero Arts Summer 2023 Catalog release. Thanks so much for stopping by today. We will see you back here soon!

Celebrating Black History Month

February 1, 2023

Hello everyone and welcome to the Hero Arts CommUNITY. My card today is featuring the Rainbow Heroscapes  from the Hero Arts Unity Collection. This collection is very near and dear to my heart. With this being the first day of Black History Month, it was the perfect opportunity to showcase the Unity Collection.

Hero Arts Unity Collection

The story behind the Unity Collection started off with a conversation between Hero Arts, Pocono Pam and myself. There was a need for people of color to feel included in the paper crafting community as there were many spaces where people of color were  unrepresented as contributing artist to the community. In a conscious effort Hero Arts wanted to intentionally add diversity and inclusive within their brand.

Representation is so important, as crafters and cardmakers of color need to feel support, appreciation and respect when expressing their values, experiences and skin tone in their work. We are celebrating this spirit through unity, and this collaboration is a pathway for everyone to see themselves in their art. We are all one united creative community!

Out of these efforts, we created the Celebrating Black Crafters feature for the Hero Arts blog. This feature celebrated black crafters who might has felt they were not seen or represented in the industry that they love so much. By having this feature, we had the chance to meet amazing crafters and see just how much they contribute to the arts and crafts community.

Expanding this celebration was inspiring. We now have the monthly CommUNITY Feature. CommUNITY is about embracing and honoring the creativity of individuals who are often underrepresented. By sharing art from a diverse group of creators, we hope to not only bring inspiration to this papercrafting community we all love so much, but also support and empower individuals to be their authentic selves as they create and share.

Let’s celebrate Black History Month Together. I hope you are inspired to create this month using products from the Hero Arts Unity Collection. We thank you for your support over the years and can’t wait to share more products and card making inspiration with you. Remember, this collection is not just for people of color. It’s here for all to enjoy and share your authentic self with the word.

Hero Arts CommUNITY: A Celebration of Diversity in Crafting

March 16, 2022

Hey everyone. I’m on the Hero Arts blog today sharing a card for the Hero Arts CommUnity: A Celebration Of Diversity In Crafting. This is a new feature you will see on the Hero Arts blog and I’m honored to be a part of it.

To feel you are not valued in the same way others are due to your race, ethnicity, sexuality or disability is NOT okay. Seeing faces that don’t represent you in spaces we all belong is NOT okay. Having your voice silenced to make others feel comfortable is NOT okay. We all matter. We all should be seen. We all want must be heard.

Diversity is not something to be feared. It’s a beautiful process to see people of different backgrounds and cultures sharing their stories. Some might not be pretty however we learn and grow together. Representation is smiling when you see yourself on platforms that were once unreachable and shining through doors that were closed. Pulling each other through goals we only imagined. The world sees you as an incredible human and a talented artist. Grow through learning and love with all your heart. We can get there together.

Let’s create a community where all are welcomed and supported to reach their highest potential. A crafting community where you are seen and heard. A community that you feel a part of that leads with compassion and grace.

Hero Arts CommUnity

My card today is a representation that we can do more that what we think we are capable of.

Thank you for your continued support of Hero Arts and the Unity Collection.
