Hey everyone. I’m on the Hero Arts blog today sharing a card for the Hero Arts CommUnity: A Celebration Of Diversity In Crafting. This is a new feature you will see on the Hero Arts blog and I’m honored to be a part of it.
To feel you are not valued in the same way others are due to your race, ethnicity, sexuality or disability is NOT okay. Seeing faces that don’t represent you in spaces we all belong is NOT okay. Having your voice silenced to make others feel comfortable is NOT okay. We all matter. We all should be seen. We all want must be heard.
Diversity is not something to be feared. It’s a beautiful process to see people of different backgrounds and cultures sharing their stories. Some might not be pretty however we learn and grow together. Representation is smiling when you see yourself on platforms that were once unreachable and shining through doors that were closed. Pulling each other through goals we only imagined. The world sees you as an incredible human and a talented artist. Grow through learning and love with all your heart. We can get there together.
Let’s create a community where all are welcomed and supported to reach their highest potential. A crafting community where you are seen and heard. A community that you feel a part of that leads with compassion and grace.
My card today is a representation that we can do more that what we think we are capable of.
Thank you for your continued support of Hero Arts and the Unity Collection.

Love this card! So glad to see Hero Arts embracing diversity. It’s encoutaging to see the beautifully illustrated products from the company. I hope this line continues to grow! Thank you Dana Joy and Hero Arts for showcasing the artists as well on the website in the CommUNITY area – it’s nice to see there are more of us in the papercrafting arena. I’ve felt “hidden” and somewhat fearful to show my creations for years. This may be the impetus for me to face the fear and go for it.
