Holiday Card Series 2022 Day 5: Stencils and A Background Stamp

November 21, 2022

Hey everyone. Welcome to day 5 of the Holiday Card Series for 2022 and we are using stencils and a background stamp to make our cards today. I love, love, love how these cards came out.

stencil and a background stamp

By using a word stencil, a background stamp and a stencil with open areas, these cards came out amazing. I also made sure to start with colored cardstock to make ink blending a breeze.

Holiday Card Series 2022 – Day 4 Faux Dip Dye

November 14, 2022

Hello everyone. Welcome to Day 4 of the Holiday Card Series. We are working on faux dip dye today. I have watched Kristina Werner do this one her holiday cards and I love it. So I took the brave step and decided to give it a try for the holiday card series.

Holiday Card Series 2022 Faux Dip Dye

This process for this technique is really simple. By adjusting the amount of water and watercolor paint you can make a beautiful gradient card. Also to deepen up a color,  add black a little at a time to get the color you are looking for.

Faux Dip Dye

Don’t forget you can see all the cards I’ve made by clicking this link or you can find them by searching the blog for holiday card series.

Holiday Card Series 2022 Day 3: Metallic Watercolors

November 11, 2022

Nothing makes my heart happier than metallic watercolors on black cardstock. Iuile watercolors are now one of my favorite watercolors. They are so shimmery and look magnificent applied to cards or in this case tags. These beautiful stars are from the Simon Says Stamp Peace On Earth stamp set.

Holiday Card Series 2022 Day 3 Metallic Watercolor Tags

A simple sentiment that is not oversized works wonderfully on the tags. By keeping the sentiment on black cardstock, it matching with the tag and does not compete with it.

Holiday Card Series 2022 Day 3 Metallic Watercolors

Okay on to the tutorial. You can watch it here or over on my Youtube channel.

Here is the bonus card I mentioned in the video. This card was made using the same stamp set. For this card I did no-line watercoloring on the angel and I’m in love with the way it came out.

Remember you can find more holiday inspiration here on the blog by clicking this link. That’s a wrap for today. Have a fantastic weekend and I’ll see you back here soon!

Holiday Card Series Day 2: Infinity Snowflakes

November 9, 2022

Hello everyone. Welcome to day 2 of the Holiday Card Series 2022 and let’s use Infinity Snowflakes to make our card. Today we are making a layered snowflake card. Infinity dies are an easy way to make quick cards. Just switch out the colors of cardstock on each layered piece and you have endless color scheme.

Making a card with just one theme (meaning I’m not adding anything to the card besides snowflakes) keeps a card looking harmonious. There is nothing to distract your eye from the snowflakes.

Holiday Card Series 2022 Day 2

By adding the Hero Arts Glitter Paste, I’m able to add texture to to card without a real design that competes with my snowflakes.

Keeping my color palette in a more neutral palette with just a pop of red helps the card brighten up just a bit.

Today’s tutorial will show you how to create this sparkly card with little happiness in your heart. You can watch the tutorial here on the blog or over on my Youtube channel. A supply list has been added below for your shopping ease.

You can find all videos for this years series by click here. Thanks for joining me today. I’ll see you back here for day 3 soon. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Holiday Card Series 2022 Day 1: Hero Arts MMH November 2022

November 7, 2022

Our November My Monthly Hero release is packed full of darling products you can use to create handmade ornaments, tags, cards and more! The kit includes a large set of 31 scene-building dies that can be combined in countless ways. There’s a message set featuring holiday essentials. The kit is rounded out with ribbon and sequins – the perfect finishing touches for your tags or ornaments!

Kit Contents:
3” x 4” Clear Set
Ornament Building Fancy Die Set
1-3 yards ribbon
6 sheets acetate 5×6
Sequins – snowflake mix
6 white paper 5.5×8.5

Make your gift tags a breeze this year. With my creative juices flowing, I decided to step out of the box and do non traditional holiday colors for my tag. Since I’ve been living in Florida and we seem to only have one season, making brighter holiday cards and tags has become a thing for me. LOL

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero November 2022

By using Hero Arts Reactive Inks, being super colorful and bright is easy. For my color combo I used colors which you would see in a sun set. The warm shades of yellow, oranges and pinks is perfect. There is a die that cuts greenery for your tags, however for my tag, Hero Arts Charcoal ink worked magically.

Remember that reactive inks reactive with water. Instead of water, I used the Hero Arts Iridescent Shimmer Spray. I really wish you could see the sparkle on this tag.

I have a tutorial sharing how this tag came together. You can watch it here on the blog or over on my Youtube channel.

For my extra projects, I used the new Hero Arts Mug Tag Fancy die. I mean how cute is this mug of hot chocolate look? When the weather gets a little chilly here in Florida, I love a great mug of hot chocolate.

The inks I used on my mugs were Hero Arts Crimson, Cranberry, Fresh Lawn, Pine, Lemon Yellow and Spicy Mustard. Making pretty ombre mugs makes gift giving fun.

These tags have a TON of sparkle by using the shimmer mist and the Hero Arts Snowflake Glitter.

Thanks for stopping by today. Next on the hopis Daniel. Don’t forget to comment for a chance to win one of the gift certificates. Have a great day and I’ll see you back here soon.

Afternoon friends. I'm back with a card layering u Afternoon friends. I'm back with a card layering up my @heroarts bold prints. I love the look for texture on cards and by using two great bold prints, I created this beauty. A good tip to layering your bold prints, keep it simple! If your bold prints are too busy, layering them will be difficult.

For my card I used the Hero Arts Ginkgo Leaves and Positive Script bold prints. The script bold print is small enough that it doesn't overpower the leaves. And you don't have to be perfect with the script either as you are just giving the look for words not something that needs to be readable. Perfect match in cardmaking heaven.

You can find all the products I used on the blog today including this beautiful sentiment you see on my card. (it's one that speaks to my heart). Link is in the bio. Have a wonderful day everyone.
