Easy Ink Blending Valentine Card: My Favorite Things

January 15, 2024

Hey everyone. Keeping in the Valentine spirit, we are doing easy ink blending Valentine card using My Favorite Tings products. I haven’t used my distress oxides inks in a while so I thought today would be the day I did just that.

Using colors of pinks and purples inspired by my Color Cube, I got to working on a beautiful background. The Full Of Hearts Dieanamic from My Favorite Things was a great option for the ink blended piece. It provided me with a great over for a card and tons of little hearts I can use on additional cards.

The adorable new stamp set from My Favorite Things called Lovely Lions was the perfect addition to this beautiful background.

You can watch the tutorial here or over on my Youtube channel. Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you! I hope I’ve inspired you to keep working on your Valentine’s Day cards. I’ll be back with another card shortly. Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you again!

Pixel Grid Your Valentine’s Day Cards – Valentine’s Day Card Series Day 1

January 17, 2022

Hey everyone. Today is the start of the Valentine’s Day Card Series. The tutorial today is showing you how to use the Ink Blot Shop’s Pixel Grid with Pixel Grid Masks stencils. I think this stencil pack is soo very cool. I paired this stencil with the Sentiment Label Blocks stamp set. The color palette is chocolate with a splash of red and pink. There is also a bonus card using the same color palette with Copic markers.

Here is the card I made using the Ink Blot Shop Happy Mail Heart with Copic markers. The color palette is still the same just the medium has changed. The Copic makers I used for this card were R35, R46, R11, R21, E25, E27 and W02. I used the same Distress Oxide colors for the sentiments

You can watch the tutorial here or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.

Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll be back tomorrow with another tutorial and color palette. Have a great day everyone.

Hero Arts Abstract Honeycomb

January 24, 2021

Hey everyone.  Welcome back. I’m playing with the Abstract Honeycomb Bold Print stamp from Hero Arts today. I love a great background stamp and this one is beautiful. Let’s see how this card came together.

I wanted the card to have texture so I decided not to have my inks blended perfectly.  Dabbing on some distress oxide inks in Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves was the first task. I made sure to overlap each color just a little bit. I spritz the background stamp lightly with water and pressed it down on Dove White card stock.

Setting this panel aside I stared to work on the sentiment.  I stamped a sentiment from the Bee and Flowers Wreathe stamp set in black ink and fussy cut it out with my scissors.  Next I used the Hexagon Infinity dies to make a gold frame for my sentiment. I decided to go with gold for a pop of shine.

Going back to my colorful panel, I adhered it to a black piece of card stock and placed it on a side folding card also from Hero Arts. I popped up my sentiment on foam tape and placed the gold frame around it.

To bring in just a touch more of gold, I added on some gold baubles around the card. I had so much fun creating this card. I’m going to give it a go again in different colors. What colors would you like to see next for the Abstract Honeycomb stamp? Leave me a comment below and I’ll give it a try.  Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you back here again this week with more card inspiration.

Save The Crafty Youtuber Video Hop

March 25, 2020

Hey everyone.  I know I have been missing in action but I’m back for the Save The Crafty Youtuber Video Hop.  There are so many amazing people who share their creativeness on Youtube.  I’m so thrilled to participate again this year in the Save The Crafty YouTuber Video hop.  Let’s get started.

For my card today I used products from Waffle Flower and Heffy Doodle.  This was a super easy card to pull together and can be changed up to so many color combinations.  I kept mine to very spring like colors since it’s pretty warm here in Florida.

Save The Crafty YouTuber Video Hop

Now let me give you a heads up.  I had to record this video THREE times.  My computer decided not to play nicely with me and since the Apple stores are closed during this time, I had to record it multiple times to get it to export correctly.  After five plus hours on the phone with Apple, I switched to creating the video on my phone and I was successful with an upload. (A lot of wine was involved to keep my nerves down). 😂

June 11, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m back today with a new tutorial using rainbows are my inspiration.  So it’s Easy Distress Rainbow Cards up on the blog.  I’m been feeling like I’m losing my mojo and I needed a way to get excited about crafting again.  What better way than to pull out some rainbow influenced colors and make a few cards.

For my cards today I used distress oxide inks, rainbow foil and a stencil.  There are so many ways to be inspired when making a rainbow cards and there are so many variations of styles and techniques.  I’m going to share three with you in the tutorial that I hope inspire you to pull out your colorful paper and get busy. Here’s a few picks of the card before we get started.  The first cards I just pulled out my distress oxide inks and got busy.  I love how simple and colorful this card came out.

For my next card I used the distress stripe toner sheets from Therm-O-Web and the rainbow shattered glass foil.  Oh this foil is soooo yummy and beautiful.  I have all the products I used listed below.

And for my last card, I pulled out a stencil and used the transfer gel and rainbow foil to create a fun distressed circle background.

Okay on to the tutorial I know you have been waiting for.  Please let me a comment on which card you liked the best and what inspires you to get creative. You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I’ve used affiliate links for your convenience at no cost to you.
