Holiday Card Series 2019 Day 7 – Guest Designer Ilda Dias

November 23, 2019

Hello and welcome! Ida Dias here with you today.  I am super excited to be guest designing for Dana’s holiday card series for 2019 by sharing a fun tutorial with you. On my blog I love sharing  my crafty creations. You will see I mostly share papercrafts, but I also enjoy cake decorating, DIY’s, painting and well anything crafty!  Today I will be showing you a super-easy way to create easy shaker cards without any frame or foam, thus the Fameless Shaker Card. I’ve had this idea for the longest time and I am finally sharing with you how easy they are to put together.

Easy Shaker Cards

I will keep this how to write up really brief on this post as it is easier to watch the video, plus to win today’s GIVEAWAY (valued over $100 box of craft goodies) you’ll have to leave comments on the YouTube Channels to qualify! Also, I share tons of my tips and tricks that I have learned along the way to make the card making process easier.
<

For my cards I used mostly products from Studio Katia, see links below for all the products I used.

I began with stamping out the images from the HAPPY SNOWMEN stamp set and then used the coordinating  HAPPY SNOWMEN dies to cut them out. I then colored them in using Copic Markers.

Next, I created my background panels by adding some MOONSTONE GLIMMER PASTE to the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” panels using the CONFETTI stencil. To create the frameless shakers, I used a page protector and trimmed the plastic slightly larger than the card panel, leaving a 1/2 inch border around. I then trimmed off the corners of the plastic.

To the back of the card panel, I added strips of adhesive tape. I then added the shaker bits to the center of the plastic sheet and then placed the panel finished side down onto the plastic sheet. Next, I flipped up the flaps adhering then to the back of the panel, sealing in all the shaker pieces. I then added the finished shaker fronts to the A2 card bases. To finish off the cards I popped on the images I colored previously and embellished them by adding sparkle and shine wherever I could. Now let me tell you more about this Holiday Card Series.

The GJC Holiday Card Series runs from November 17 to December 14. Like I mentioned above, there will be tons of giveaways, tutorials and discount codes from sponsors.  Each day Dana will have a Guest Designer on her blog sharing their holiday card ideas just like I did here today. Hopefully you will find something to inspire you to create holiday cards for your family and friends this year. Follow along on her YouTube Channel and make sure you leave comments on each designer’s posts or videos for chances to win.

GIVEAWAY

I will be picking ONE lucky winner from comments left on both my YT Channel and Dana’s YT Channel to win a box full of goodies valued over $100. Good Luck! Winners will be selected December 16 the more comments you leave the better your chances are of winning. A special Thank You to Dana for having me here today to share this with her followers on her Blog and YouTube Channel. She is one very special and talented lady that excites this community with her JOY of cardmaking.

Hopefully, you all enjoyed this fun way making shaker cards and maybe next time will try this Frameless technique out! Thank you for stopping by 😊

Until next time… Happy Crafting 👋

Ilda is such a talented (and selfless) crafters and I’m really glad I got to meet her in the crazy Instagram world. I might be a bit biased because we live in the same province!!! She also designs for one of my fave suppliers and I’m always looking forward to see what she creates. These cards are so sweet, and I’m definitely giving this technique a try. I’m also glad that through her, I discover this blog (account). I just love how supportive our crafting community is.
    Cheers!

Ida, your cards are so sweet! SO sweet in fact as soon as I was finished watching your video I literally ran to my craft room to replicate it using the supplies that I had. Mine has a dry embossed background panel with a Christmas tree die cut out of the center. the shaker elements are pearlescent snowflakes. It is so BEAUTIFUL! Thank you so much for sharing such a fabulous design.
