Holiday Card Series 2019 Day 6 – Guest Designer Ardyth Percy-Robb

November 22, 2019

Good morning! It’s Ardyth Percy-Robb here and I’m taking over Dana’s blog and Youtube channel  to share in the fun of her Got Joy Creations Holiday Card Series for 2019. Make sure you are following this series for amazing holiday inspiration, giveaways, discount codes and don’t forget to leave a comment below to qualify for all the giveaways!

Let me introduce myself to you. I started cardmaking in 2006, at a Stampin’ Up! Party and have never looked back.  Before that, I would not have claimed to be crafty or creative at all. Working as an accountant, creativity is frowned upon! 😂  I love clean, graphic design with bold colours and lots of white space. My favourite cards are the ones where supplies are used in unexpected ways!

Christmas is the perfect time for glitz and glam, and today I used 6 different ways to add shimmer, shine and sparkle to a holiday card. You will see me use Nuvo Embellishment paste, Nuvo Glacier Paste, Sequin Confetti, Lawn Fawn Pearlescent Vellum, sparkly embossing powder and glitter cardstock! Now, that’s a lot, and you don’t have to use all 6 on one card, but I figured that Christmas is the perfect time to go all out and make something really magical! Let’s check out the tutorial I have for you today.

Remember, card series runs from November 17 to December 14. Each day, there will be a new holiday card idea to provide you with lots of inspiration for your holiday cards this year. Hello, everyone. It’s Kari VanNoy from www.SunshineInMyPocket.com here with you and I’m taking over Dana’s blog and Youtube channel today for Dana’s Got Joy Creations Holiday Series 2019. Let me introduce myself to you. I love mirrored side tables, small crystal chandeliers, and drinking ice water out of goblets. Also close to my heart are graphic design, baking, cooking, crafting, drawing as well as calligraphy. My absolute favorite thing ever is to make something extra special and deliver it to someone who needs cheering up or could use a surprise gift {who couldn’t, really?}

Make sure you are following this series for amazing holiday inspiration, giveaways, discount codes and don’t forget to leave a comment below to qualify all the giveaways. There will also be tutorials and cards shared by Dana as well and she will have a few surprises to share with you!

Today I have a fun holiday card for you featuring a little hedgehog friend visiting Santa. This card is filled with lots of foil shine and glittery goodness…everything a that makes holiday card extra special, right!?

I have a video showing you how I put this card together, as well as lots of tips on adding snow, glitter (that doesn’t come off!) and even foil shortcuts. Watch it below or on YouTube.

Aren’t these critters cute?! I colored them up very quickly with Copic Markers. Don’t worry about making the coloring perfect, there is so much detail and glitter and shine on this card that will delight your recipient!

I hope this card put a smile on your face today! I have a list below of all the supplies, if you are interested.

The GJC Holiday Card Series runs from November 17 to December 14. Each day Dana will have a Guest Designer right here on the blog sharing their holiday card ideas just like I did here today. Hopefully you will find something to inspire you to create holiday cards for your family and friends this year. Holiday Card Series 2019 Day 3 – Concord & 9th

November 19, 2019

Hey everyone.  It’s Day 3 of the Holiday Card Series. I am your host today. I hope you are enjoying the series so far and you are getting inspired by our guest designers.  Today’s cards feature products from Concord and 9th.  Concord and 9th is a company I adore.  Their products are amazing and so creative.   The owner Angie is one the sweetest people I know.  I love her dedication to the crafting community and supporting crafters is genuine.  Thank you Angie for supporting me again this year. Let’s get into the tutorial.

For my first card I used the Stocking Stuffers stamps and dies from Concord & 9th to make a cute stocking card with a colorful snowflake background.  This card was super easy to pull together and I love the color combos on this one.

Concord & 9th Stocking Stuffers

To tone down the brightness of my background panel I used a sheet of vellum.

For my second card I used the Merry Shapes stamp set and die. These stamp and die combo make very clean and simple cards that WOW your recipients.  Keeping the card to just two colors really lets the image stand out.  Repeating a pattern across a card is a simple way to mass produce your holiday cards.  I stamped the image first with Versamark ink on navy card stock.  I heat embossed the images with gold embossing powder.  Next I die cut out image with the coordinating die.  Setting these pieces aside I began to work on the sentiment.

Concord and 9th Merry Shapes

Keeping with the clean and simple look I stamped the sentiment on navy card stock, heat embossed it in gold embossing powder and glued into onto a strip of gold foil paper. Now it was time to put my card together. Starting with a white card base, I layered on navy card stock.  To bring in some gold I pulled out my neutral foil pack and used the gold paper so I could layer another piece of navy car stock on top. I adhered my die cut shapes across this panel with foam tape and trimmed down the extra bits hanging off the sides.  For the sentiment, I popped it up with foam tape as well.

Concord and 9th Merry Shapes

This panel was now ready to for the card base. To finish off the card I glued down a few flat back sequins on several of the open circle areas on the card.  Super easy card to make multiples of.  I’ve linked the products below that I used on these cards.  Thanks for stopping by today. See you back here soon.
