Reverse Rainbow Card With Brea Reese Alcohol Inks

June 30, 2019

Hey peeps.  I shared a card last week using a beautiful rainbow alcohol ink piece to make a shaker card.  I NEVER get rid of scraps of pretty paper.  So today I’m going to show you the card I made using the scraps from last week. Of course the gorgeous Brea Reese alcohol inks are the star of this card.

Any time you make a great card using a die, see what else you can use the leftover piece for.  My card today is reverse rainbow.  These beautiful piece came out of the Rainbow die cut from Avery Elle I used last week.  I love the way it looks on the all white background.  It also reminds me of a sound echo of some sort.  LOL I see all kinds of things when I create.  All I did was glued the piece onto a white card base and stamp a simple sentiment.

Reverse Rainbow Card

I wish I had the power to create such beautiful cards with all my alcohol ink backgrounds.  Some of them are so beautiful I really don’t want to use them.  (LOL I know- first world problems). However when you know using Brea Reese alcohol inks would make your heart happy, don’t you want that feeling to last through your art?

Brea Reese Alcohol Inks

To keep the card simple. I kept lots of white space, used a simple sentiment and very few embellishments.  I didn’t want anything to compete with all that color. The card base was made out of fog card stock.  Another color that won’t compete with my alcohol ink pieces. Absolutely stunning.

I’ve linked all the products used for this card below for your shopping convenience.  I also have a link to more work I’m done using Brea Reese alcohol inks.  Want to see a tutorial? Head on over to my Youtube channel. Thanks for stopping by today.  I’ll see you back here soon.

Brea Reese Alcohol Ink Techniques – Let The Happiness Begin

May 16, 2019

Hey everyone.  I’m sharing Brea Reese alcohol ink techniques – let the happiness begin.  I had the opportunity to have some of these inks sent to me for review.  I also purchased a few additional colors on my own along with the Brea Reese waterproof paper.  These Brea Reese inks are very vibrant and work fabulously on the Brea Reese waterproof panels and the waterproof paper.  To me these inks seem to blend easier than other alcohol inks and they work beautifully with other inks as well.

Let me share a few of the projects I made with these inks before we get into the tutorial.  In the tutorial I share you will see several Brea Reese alcohol ink techniques that I hope inspire you to grab some and play. You will see in the tutorial how easy these pieces came together and how quickly you can make stunning backgrounds and sentiments for your next set of cards. To see another project I made using these inks check out this posts.

The Stamp Market Hugs and Hello Stamp Set

May 15, 2019

Good morning everyone.  Today I’m sharing a card using The Stamp Market Hugs and Hello stamp set.  This stamp set includes the prettiest paper hugs and hello sentiments.  As soon as I saw the stamp set I fell in love with it.  The contrast between the large bold letters and the thin line letters are stunning together.  They are also very easy to layer as well.

I’ve been using alcohol inks a lot more lately so I had a few backgrounds ready for a card.  For this card I used my Ranger Pearl Alcohol inks in rainbow order to create this background.  I will say that these inks do more a little bit differently on a card compared to their counterparts.  Assuming that the pearl additive slightly changes the ink and makes it flow differently across my paper.

Regardless of the difference in properties I am still a HUGE fan of the pearl alcohol inks.  I mean you can achieve shimmer and color all in one ink.  That’s a bonus for me and I’m sure it is for you as well.

So on to the card I made.  Like I mentioned I already had this panel made so all I needed to do was add the right sentiment.  This paper hugs sentiment is large enough to really work well on this background.  With this sentiment you really don’t need anything else.  Just for some added blink, I attached two heart glossy enamels from Pink and Main to anchor the sentiment on the card.

The Stamp Market Hugs and Hellos

After pulling the sentiment off of the background to get ready to stamp, there was a slight transfer of color onto to the stamp itself.  After heat embossing it with arctic white embossing powder from InkOn3 I still had residue on the sentiment.  However I’m completely okay with it.

Here’s a closeup of how the paper looks.  It’s so pretty in real like.  I will definitely be using the pearl alcohol inks again to make backgrounds for my card.

If you don’t have The Stamp Market Hugs and Hello stamp set, GET IT!  Products used for this card are link below.  I am using affiliate links however there is no cost to you.  The proceeds continue to allow me to create in my craft room and share inspiration with you.  Thank you for your support.

Brea Reese Trio Striped Alcohol Ink Background Card

May 8, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m back today sharing a Brea Reese trio striped alcohol ink background card. Totally in love with these inks.  If you missed the first card I made using these inks you can check them out here. These inks work beautifully on yupo, legend papers and Brea Reese waterproof paper. Let me show you the card I have for you today.

To create this card I used a three colors from Brea Reese.  I used orange, turquoise and medium magenta.  I applied some inks on a mini blending tool in a stripe pattern.  Next I dragged the tool across the Brea Reese waterproof paper to create my stripes.  Look how vibrant the colors appear on this paper.  It’s stunning.

Brea Reese Trio Stripe Background Card

I paired this gorgeous ink background with a sparkly sentiment.  I pulled out my Altenew Bold Alphabet dies and glitter paper from DCWV.  For added dimension I die cut the sentiment several times and glued them all together.  This makes for a thicker embellishment. I layered the alcohol ink background onto bright orange card stock and then onto a white card base.  For some added sparkle I used a few of my Lucy’s Card iridescent jewels.  I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out.

Let me know if you would like to see more alcohol ink techniques using Brea Reese alcohol inks.  These inks are a MUST have for any alcohol ink junkie!  LOL Have a great day everyone.  See you back here soon.

Hot foil plates and stencils for the win! I have two very different color palettes today that aren't your traditional red and pink cards.

I do have a favorite out of these two cards. Can you guess which one? Check out the tutorial to see just how easy these cards were to put together. (link in bio)

Morning everyone. It's another day for valentine c Morning everyone. It's another day for valentine cards. In today's tutorial I made a trio of valentine cards from one background. This was so easy and so much fun to make. Where are my Distress Oxide Spray lovers?

With three colors of @tim_holtz Distress Oxide Sprays these cards were created. I don't have all the sprays and are "collecting" them little by little. The fear of using these sprays have been unleashed. 😂😂😂 After watching more and more videos from Tim, my nervousness of "messing it up" has been replaced by "oh that's so pretty".

By using just two die cuts from products from the January 2023 release from @heroarts

The link for the tutorial is in the bio and I hope I inspire you to start creating your Valentine's Day Cards.

The January 2023 release for @ginakdesigns is now The January 2023 release for @ginakdesigns is now available. The Terrific Textures stamp designed by @melaniemuenchinger was so much fun to play with.

I stamped the image several times in different color inks from Gina K. Designs. The colors are Passionate Pink, Wild Dandelion, Key Lime, Lucky Clover and Ocean Mist. Next I filled in the area using my W-G 7 @olomarker to change the paper from white to this pretty warm gray color.

While I was stamping the images, I made sure to leave a section blank where I could place my Happy Birthday sentiment. This was such a great card to great.
