InkOn3 Heels To You Stamp Set – Calling All Fashionistas

April 17, 2019

Hey peeps. The InkOn3 Heels To You stamp set is PEFECT for your fashionistas in your life. I mean who doesn’t love a fabulous looking heel.  This stamp set is now available in the InkOn3 store. Below you will see a few cards I made using this stamp set.

For this shoe I used the Fade Out Ink from InkOn3 to stamp the image on watercolor paper.  I used my Daniel Smith watercolors to color the shoe.  I love how the shoe looks like denim.  Simplicity of this card keeps the focus on the heel.

For my next two cards I used my Copic markers to color in the heels.  I also added some glossy accents and liquid pixie dust for some added interest.  Stenciling a background in coordinating colors really helps land these heels in a happy place. In the stamp set there’s an additional flower image along with great sentiments. These added images will make beautiful floral cards.  You can easily use this set for Mother’s Day cards as well.

On a personal note:  I have been absent from my blog due to family matters.  We have lost three of our loved ones in three months and their deaths have left an incredibly empty place in our hearts.  It has zapped my mojo and my spirit at the moment.  I am slowly getting back to crafting and making tutorials.  Please bear with me as I process these losses and find some peace in my life.  Thank you all for your support and kind words on my social media platforms. I appreciate each and every one of you.  As I work my way through this process, please make sure to scroll through my blog for inspiration and tutorials.   Have a great day everyone and stay blessed.

Crafty hugs,

Dana

Inexpensive Watercolor Palette – Is It Worth the Money?

March 27, 2019

Hey peeps.  Inexpensive Watercolor palette – Is it Worth the Money?  Yes it is especially if you are a beginner.  Inexpensive watercolor palettes make it easy on the wallet. Watercolor palettes can be purchased as a set or you can make one of your own.  Purchasing tubes of watercolor paints can get expensive so I recommend starting with one already made.  I saw this palette on Amazon and decided to purchase it for a review.  This watercolor palette is perfect for on the go travel.  The colors are vibrant and easy to blend.

Inexpensive Watercolor

I decided to do a quick tutorial sharing my first impressions of these colors.  I will say these watercolors are not artist grade however they are good for quick and beautiful watercoloring. Here’s a quick tutorial. You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I’ll see you back here soon.

Watercolor Summit Course – I’m I Ready For This?

March 25, 2019

Hey peeps.  I bit the bullet and purchased the Watercolor Summit class.😍 I have mentioned before that I love watercoloring.  It’s one of those mediums that just flows in my soul.  I find myself so relaxed when I do it and I never feel rushed to complete anything I’m working on.  I started my first few courses this week and I have already learned so much.  This class is only available I think twice a year.

A dear friend of mine (Ruby Naz) had purchased the class last year.  I didn’t want to purchase it because I felt overwhelmed.  After speaking with her, she made me relax about how I approach this class and said it was a class well worth the money.  Now Ruby will be teaching her very first watercolor class. (Yup, that paid off didn’t it? 😉) I’m immersing myself in this class. I’m taking the fear out of getting out of my comfort zone away and embracing what will come.

I also feel when you want to better yourself, you need to understand that it’s an investment in yourself.  I have purchased other courses in my past (Copics for example) to get me to a point where I can say I’m more than a beginner and working to become a seasoned colorist. Putting learning at the top of my priority list is a must for me.  I never want to stop learning.

Yes, there are free courses you can take and Youtube videos you can watch for free. However in my experience I don’t get the detailed knowledge that I get from paying a professional artist to teach me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that free courses and Youtube tutorials aren’t done by professional people. Learning from these incredible teachers helped me tremendously.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Please make sure to follow me as I go thorough this journey.  I’ll be sharing inspiration with you here on the blog and also on my Youtube channel.  Have a wonderful day everyone and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for the blog hop for TopFlight Stamps.

Concord & 9th October Release Songbird Stamp Set

October 12, 2018

Hey peeps.  I’m super excited to say I’m a guest designer for Concord & 9th this month.  The October release is one of my favorites and I’m loving working with all the new products. Today’s card I’m featuring the Songbird stamp set.  This set is one of my favorite to watercolor.  The larger image and beautiful design really makes it easy to color.  Copic markers, color pencils and even pastels would be gorgeous with this image.

For my card I pulled out my Daniel Smith watercolors to color this image.  Next I used my color pencils to add some details to the image.  I decided to add detail to my background with a pretty stencil.  I stamped one of the sentiments on this panel and added some sequins.  I fussy cut it out and popped it up on foam tape.  Lastly I adhered this to a white card base.

Head on over to the Concord & 9th blog for more inspiration from guest designers and design team members.  Have a great day!
