One this is one retro card.

Okay on to the next card. This card is featuring the new Altenew Shattered Cubes Builder Stencil. This stencil was so much fun to use. I can’t wait to use it again with different color combinations.

Hero Arts Holiday Catalog Release Blog Hop

August 18, 2021

(Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you)

Hello everyone and welcome to the Hero Arts Holiday Catalog Release Blog Hop. I’m so excited to share card inspiration using products from this catalog. There are so many new products I’m sure you are going to fall in love with. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. Let’s get into the cards I have to share with you.

My first card is featuring the Hero Arts Holly Berries Stamp Set and the Hero Arts Holly Berries Fancy die. I love the simplicity of the lines of this image and the presence of it on a card. It’s large enough to be the star of a card without having to do loads of coloring or adding many details to the card.

Hero Arts Holly Berries

For the second card I’m using the Hero Arts Holiday Ornaments and Hero Arts Holiday Ornaments Fancy Dies. These ornaments are absolutely gorgeous. I used Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors for my medium on this card however you can use Copic markers, color pencils or the Hero Arts Layering Ornaments Stencil.

My last card might just be my favorite. The Hero Arts Geometric Spiral Stencil is awesome! I LOVE a fabulous graphic stamp, die or stencil and this one fits the bill perfectly! Filling in the design with a white gelly roll pen steps up the look just a bit.

Beautiful Night Sky Holiday Cards

October 16, 2020

Hey peeps. Still playing with the October 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit. I’m making some beautiful night sky holiday cards.  These cards are easy to create. Pretty much a one layer and done.

If you missed my post using bright colors for holiday cards, check out this post Colorful Ornaments Holiday card.  I pulled in the same pink I used on that card and paired it with grape juice and navy ink. This allowed me to have a spectacular night sky for my card.

Night Sky Holiday Card

I masked off a portion of the card to create a snowy hill. Sponging on the layers of ink above that making sure to work my colors into the paper. Starting with the pink in the lower portion of the panel and working my way up to the navy. I LOVE how this night sky turned out. Next I stamped sleigh Santa’s in embossing ink and heat set it with white embossing powder. Of course I needed to add my favorite white iridescent shimmer spray.

Night Sky Holiday Card

For the trees and deers, I stamped them multiple times in Cocoa ink to get them nice and dark. Night sky holiday cards are just so beautiful to make.

Show us your night skies using this My Monthly Hero kit. We are inspired by your creativity. Be sure to tag @heroarts on Instagram. See you back here soon.

Colorful Ornaments Holiday Card

October 12, 2020

Hey peeps.  I’m back sharing inspiration using the My Monthly Hero Arts October 2020 kit. Colorful ornaments holiday cards are easy to make with just a few ink colors and white card stock.

Pulling just a few bright inks together can make a quick card have a powerful impact.  For this card I used Hero Arts Ultra Pink, Green Hills and Soft Pool. These colors play nicely together without competing with each other.

Colorful Ornaments

I started with the middle ornament using my Misti stamping tool to center it on the card panel. Then I adjusted the ornament and repeatedly stamped around the first ornament in different colors to cover the panel. For added interest, I pulled in a snowflake image from the kit. Stamping some in the ultra pink and a few in embossing ink and gold heat embossing those.

Colorful Ornaments

Adding some interest to the card, I spritz the panel with Hero Arts White Iridescent Shimmer spray.  I love this stuff.  To pull in more of the gold I used a few small gold baubles.

Colorful Ornaments

I hope this inspires you to pull out some bright colors and get creative with your colorful ornaments holiday cards.  Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you back here soon.
