Hello everyone and welcome to the blog. Today we are sharing the Hero Arts MMH for August 2023. I’m working the with Premium kit today. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. If you would like to start from the beginning, you can click here.
Our August release was inspired by a recent trip our owners took to Yosemite National Park! With dies to cut out trees, mountains, plateaus and fields of wildflowers, the amount of scenes that can be created is endless. In addition to these show-stopping dies, the full Premium Kit features a 4″ x 6″ stamp set full of messages, useful for a variety of card-giving occasions, or as inspirational embellishments on your mixed media projects.
There’s also a 3″ x 4″ stamp set full of blooming poppies. There are coordinating dies to cut out the flowers, too! Our Hero Transfers have been a huge hit this year, so we’ve packed the kit with four sheets of fabulous cactus rub-ons; use these on cards, planners, journal pages – you name it! EarthSafe Glitter is a fitting element to include in a kit celebrating nature; you’ll have the opportunity to try out our fully biodegradable gold glitter. Rounding out the Premium Kit are brass embossing powder, a gorgeous Two-Tone Shimmer Spray, and a sampling of premium cardstock in six beautiful colors.
• Clear Stamp Set, 4″ x 6″
• Poppy Clear Stamp Set, 3″ x 4″
• 7 Poppy Coordinating Frame Cuts
• 4 Park Scene Fancy Dies
• 4 Sheets of Cactus Hero Transfers, 6″ x 8″
• 1 Sheet each of Papaya, Canary, Palm, Kiwi, Woodland and Mist Cardstock, 5.5″ x 8.5″
• Brass Embossing Powder, 0.5 oz.
• Gold EarthSafe Glitter, 0.5 oz.
• Two-Tone Spray, 2 oz.
For my card today I have a tutorial to share. I tried to use as much as I could from the premium kit. You can also see my sneak peek card which I used even more products. The premium kit is full of extra inspiration for your cardmaking ideas. I didn’t have the Hero Arts Transfers in time to make the tutorial however they are a great way to add a colored image to your design without the hassle of coloring.
Like the introduction mentioned, this kit as well as the classic kit was inspired by Aaron’s Yosemite National Park trip. When nature inspires you, make a kit people. LOL
Color choices for these kits are fantastic. They capture all the colors we see in nature and truly remind me of a mid century modern vibe as well.
You can watch the tutorial here if you like or over on my Youtube channel. Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you.
As we do each month, I create a card using the add-on products. Cactus Fancy Dies was my add-on for this month. The details in the largest cactus really is striking. Deciding how to display these die cuts on my card were super easy. Pulling out an older kit called Hot Stuff by Hero Arts and die cutting only the bottom half of the die, I was able to create adorable little pots for my plants to thrive in.
Pulling in strips of the cardstock from the kit, the mid century modern idea flowed with stripes behind my plants. By doing this it pulls your eyes directly to the plants. Each plant was die cut using the green cardstock from the kit and sprayed with the Two-Tone Green and Gold Metallic spray.
Using a white gelly roll pen, I pulled some white onto the pots by adding in color at the tops and bottoms. This card as such a great feel to me. Now let’s get into the giveaway. We will give away a $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, August 13th at 11:59pm Pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.
Next on the hop is Emily. Have a great time hopping around and good luck with the giveaway!
