Welcome to the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero August 2022 kit release. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. This months kit is sooo pretty. I LOVE layering stencils and this one is one of my favorite.
Adventure lies ahead with our August My Monthly Hero kit. The desert southwest is your destination as you create beautiful landscapes with the kit’s layering stencils. We’ve included four ink colors to get you started, but a rainbow of possibilities await. Add some glistening shimmer with PearlEx powder. There are dies to cut out the desert elements, and a message set with greetings that are great for cardmaking and journaling alike. Be wild and free as you enjoy the creative journey!
Here are the contents of this months kit.
• 3″ x 4″ Clear Stamp Set
• 4 Color Layering Stencils (5.25″ x 6.5″)
• 6 Coordinating Frame Cuts
• 4 Ink Cubes (Caramel, Sand, Tangerine, Pine)
• 5 Sheets Luxe White Watercolor Paper (5.5″ x 8.5″)
• Bronze PearlEx (0.11 oz.)
For my card today I decided to load up on the pink. You can see my sneak peek card from Friday here. Oh the pretty shades of the Hero Arts Core Inks made this card shine.
I’m huge on color combos so I keep a list of ones I like on my Pinterest board. This way if I’m struggling for an ink combo, I can look there.
When using any medium, try something new. You might just find your favorite way to make a card. Below is a tutorial sharing how easy it was to create this card. You can watch it here or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.
I’m also sharing a card using the add-on On The Road Fancy Die. I LOVE how this card turned. My color medium was Copic makers and the window view is from the Hero Arts City Park Heroscape.
Next on the hop is Daniel. I hope you will enjoy the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero August 2022 release. Have a wonderful day everyone.
Your projects with this set are awesome! I wasn’t sure about the Road Fancy until I saw your make. Now I want to be a passenger looking at that view.
LOL love a great city view right?
Wonderful creations from wispy colors of the SW Desert to the Car creation. Was not sure how the Car scene would be used but you showed it off wonderfully. Ordered add-ons & Aug 20% off items.

So glad I inspired you to grab it. It’s an awesome die!!
I love the pink desert scene! Both cards are really great. Thanks for sharing.
They both are great cards. I really love that you have represented older adults with the gray hair. I love the colorful cards and clothes also.
WOW, love your take on this set. So great
How beautiful!! Love the unique pink scene. Reminds me of the red/pink sunsets here in Arizona.
Stunning cards. I love the pink landscape.
I really like the stenciling you did for the desert. Very cool!
Ooh, such unique looks! Thanks for sharing!
I love your cards! I never would have thought of doing like a tone on tone with the pinks but I love the look.
I love the traveling couple! Great video and amazing cards!
Love your creative and appealing cards! LOVE the sunset colors in the first one — and I enjoyed checking out the second one, too. It is so interesting how you incorporated the image from the City Park Heroscape into the design. And LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this kit!
I would not have thought to do the desert scene in pinks but I love the look. You were right about the colors popping thanks to the plum panel. Love the second card, too. Looks like the view I had from the back seat while on road trips with my parents. Thanks for the tip about the glue and for the helpful video!
I like the colors on the first scene and the travel theme for the couple.
Using the Pink for the desert scene makes your card unique.
Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration.

That on the road fancy die and your card with it are super! Also like your unique look of your color combination on your first car!
Love your red landscape. So evocative.
Nice cards! I like that you did a pink/red desert! That car die is a fun one and that is a nice scene with the people and the city view.
Love the “safe Journey” card. Will be used a
lot to send to my kids as they travel south
each fall and return in the spring. thanks
for sharing. txmlhl(at)yahoo(dot)com
I like your pink vibe going on in the desert themed card. Its something new for me and I like this unusual look, like placing through rose colored glasses!
