Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April 2022

April 4, 2022

Welcome to the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero release for April 2022. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog.  Our fun and floral April kit is a celebration of spring as well as the amazing people in all of our lives. It features a gorgeous cling background with bees and flowers. Three layering stencils make the coloring process easy; simply pair them with the inks and blending brush included in the kit, and you’ll quickly have cards in fresh spring colors. Combine the “amazing” word die with the mix and match messages in the stamp set for expressing thanks, celebrating birthdays, sending Mother’s Day greetings and more. We’ve also included dies for highlighting select images from the background, and the kit is rounded out with enamel embellishments which complement the ink colors perfectly.

Kit Contents

• 3″ x 4″ Clear Stamp Set
• 6″ x 6″ Cling Stamp
• 3 6″ x 6″ Color Layering Stencils
• 3 Frame Cuts
• Word Fancy Die & Frame
• 3 Ink Cubes (Rose Madder, Green Apple, Cotton Candy)
• Ink Blending Brush (size may vary)
• Spring Enamel Dots

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero

For my card today I pulled in a pretty color palette with purples and black. This color combo is very striking on a card. Using a larger piece of Hero Arts Dove White cardstock, I heat embossed the bold print background stamp in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. Next it was time to add color.

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April 2022

Since I already knew who I would be sending this card to and I know she loves purple, I used Hero Arts Orchid and Soft Purples inks for the flowers and Hero Arts Green Hills ink for the leaves. To add it the deep black color, I used Copic markers which I will share with you in the tutorial. Once the coloring was complete, I cut the panel in half diagonally.

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April 2022

To keep the card simple, I placed the panel on the card base overlapping at the corners, added a simple sentiment with a few Hero Arts Enamel dots and gold dashes finished off the card nicely. Let me share with you how to put this card together in the below tutorial.

You can watch the tutorial here or over on my YouTube channel mzdanajoy. Affiliate inks have been used at no cost to you. I believe the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for April 2022 will definitely make your card making super easy.

We will give away a $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, April 10th at 11:59pm Pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.

I also have a bonus card for you using the New Shoes and Fancy Hat Dies. These dies make wonderful Mother’s Day cards or birthday cards. I love a happy and bright card and rainbows make everything better.

Hero Arts Shoes and Hat Fancy Dies

For this card I blended Hero Arts inks in the following colors: Strawberry, Tangerine, Dandelion, Lime Green, Soft Pool and Passion Flower to ink up my pretty background along with a few spritz of Hero Arts White Iridescent Shimmer Spray. Next I die cut several hats from the following cardstock: Cherry, Papaya, Canary, Kiwi, Paradise and Amethyst. I also cut out a few from Dove White card stock so I could paper piece either the brim or the band around the hats.

Hero Arts Shoes and Hat Fancy Dies

To add a little bit of depth on each hat, I used a Copic marker to add in some shading. Using the same marker colors, I added color to the flowers I die cut from the die set. Keeping the card simple, I stamped a happy mother’s day greeting from the Let’s Celebrate stamp set also from Hero Arts.

Next on the hop is Daniel. Enjoy the hop and good luck on the giveaway.

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero March 2022

March 7, 2022

Hey everyone. Welcome to the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero for March 2022. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. Who’s ready to be their own Picasso? This kit has me feeling all artist like. The die is FABULOUS in the kit. It will work with so many smaller stamps we may have in our stash.

Take a trip to the art museum with the March My Monthly Hero release. The main kit features Abstract Expressionist art in the form of paint splatters. Stamp them with your favorite inks, or to mimic the bold look of acrylic paint, emboss them with the four vibrant embossing powders included in this kit. We’ve also included paper with the feel of canvas for creating your masterpieces, and the kit is rounded out with a fantastic cover plate die of the art museum patrons gazing at your work of art. Just imagine all the things you can frame with this die!

• 4″ x 6″ Clear Stamp Set
• Fancy Window Die
• 4 Embossing Powders in Goldenrod, Orange, Blue, Purple (1/4 oz. each)
• Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink Cube
• 2 Sheets Extra Thick Canvas Paper (4.25″ x 5.5″)
• 1 Sheet Canvas-textured Paper (5.5″ x 8.5″)

I am so excited to use this kit today and to share with you a quick tutorial on how I made these two cards. Get ready for happy neon colors. Pairing the neon colors with gold makes one striking card.

The awesome fancy die in this kit makes it so easy to change out your “framework” with coloring in the images and frame.

Before we get to the tutorial here is an extra card I made using an add-on from the release. This is the Lifestyle Frida Kahlo die set. Oh I must say I LOVE how this turned out. I paired the ties with the Hero Arts Flourish Sun Stencil and my Copic makers.

Here is the tutorial. You can view it here or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you.

Now let’s chat about the giveaway. We will give away a $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, March 13th at 11:59pm Pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week. Next on the hop is Daniel. Beautiful Watercoloring With Hero Arts Moon Goddess

February 21, 2022

Hey everyone. I’m excited to share today’s tutorial with you. I love the Hero Arts Moon Goddess for beautiful watercoloring. Using liquid watercolors helps me to expand my palette easily. You can mix colors right on a glass mat to the strength or lightness you want depending on how much water you use.

For today’s card my liquid watercolors really came in handy. Being able to create a custom color to my liking was key with the background of this card.

Liquid Watercolor

By heat embossing the image, I was also able to control the placement of the watercolor without it going into areas I didn’t want it to flow to. Remember heat embossing locks in each line to a little well that keeps the color in that area.

I mean this card gives me all the watercolor feels. Absolutely love how it turned out.

You can watch the tutorial here or you can catch it on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy. Affiliate links are used at no cost to you.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope I’ve inspired you to pull out your Hero Arts Liquid watercolors and play. You can achieve beautiful watercoloring with the Hero Arts Moon Goddess stamp.

Morning everyone. It's another day for valentine c Morning everyone. It's another day for valentine cards. In today's tutorial I made a trio of valentine cards from one background. This was so easy and so much fun to make. Where are my Distress Oxide Spray lovers?

With three colors of @tim_holtz Distress Oxide Sprays these cards were created. I don't have all the sprays and are "collecting" them little by little. The fear of using these sprays have been unleashed. 😂😂😂 After watching more and more videos from Tim, my nervousness of "messing it up" has been replaced by "oh that's so pretty".

By using just two die cuts from products from the January 2023 release from @heroarts

The link for the tutorial is in the bio and I hope I inspire you to start creating your Valentine's Day Cards.
