Simon Says Stamp Hugs Release

December 17, 2022

Hey everyone. I had the chance to join in on the fun with the Simon Says Stamp Hugs Release. My card today features the new Love You Greetings from the release. This stamp set is perfect for your Valentine’s Day cards. You can use the sentiments on the front of your card or even in the inside.

For my card I used the Hearts Infinity Dies from Hero Arts to layer up some pretty colored hearts. Working with my inks from Simon Says Stamp, I ink blended Guava, Watermelon and Cherry inks onto white cardstock. Next I used three of the infinity hearts and ran the inked backgrounds through my die cutting machine.

Once I had the hearts ready, I used the new to me Liquid Metallic Permanent Paint which I picked up from Blick’s Arts Supplies a few weeks ago. By using a small paint brushes, I add some gold around the edges of the large heart and then splattered the paint on the middle heart.

For the smallest heart, I heat embossed my sentiment using Versamark and Hero Arts Gold embossing powder. Next it was time to layer up the hearts and place them onto a Kraft card base. To add some detail, I draw a border around the card using a thin gold pen and a few scattered hearts I die cut from the left over pieces from my ink blending.

I really have to say, I love how this card turned out. I have a supply list before for easy shopping. Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Holiday Card Series 2022 Day 5: Stencils and A Background Stamp

November 21, 2022

Hey everyone. Welcome to day 5 of the Holiday Card Series for 2022 and we are using stencils and a background stamp to make our cards today. I love, love, love how these cards came out.

stencil and a background stamp

By using a word stencil, a background stamp and a stencil with open areas, these cards came out amazing. I also made sure to start with colored cardstock to make ink blending a breeze.

Holiday Card Series 2022 Day 3: Metallic Watercolors

November 11, 2022

Nothing makes my heart happier than metallic watercolors on black cardstock. Iuile watercolors are now one of my favorite watercolors. They are so shimmery and look magnificent applied to cards or in this case tags. These beautiful stars are from the Simon Says Stamp Peace On Earth stamp set.

Holiday Card Series 2022 Day 3 Metallic Watercolor Tags

A simple sentiment that is not oversized works wonderfully on the tags. By keeping the sentiment on black cardstock, it matching with the tag and does not compete with it.

Okay on to the tutorial. You can watch it here or over on my Youtube channel.

Here is the bonus card I mentioned in the video. This card was made using the same stamp set. For this card I did no-line watercoloring on the angel and I’m in love with the way it came out.

Remember you can find more holiday inspiration here on the blog by clicking this link. That’s a wrap for today. Have a fantastic weekend and I’ll see you back here soon!

Simon Says Stamp Happy and Joyful Release

April 20, 2022

Hey everyone. It’s time for the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Joyful release. It’s an amazing release and I have a quick card to share with you. The stamp set I’m using is the new Simon Says Stamp Lisianthus stamp. Isn’t this flower beautiful! As soon as I had this stamp in my hands I knew I wanted to watercolor this image.

To begin, I heat embossed the image onto watercolor paper. Next it was time to add color. My watercolor today is from a cute shop on Etsy called IUILE. I used her watercolors to color my Hero Arts MMH kit a few months back. You can take a peek at it here.  The colors are just so gorgeous. For just a touch more of shimmer, I incorporated some new watercolors I purchased from Amazon. (Disclaimer: I REALLY struggled with these watercolors on their own however I will try again to see if I can get the hang of them.)

Once I had everything watercolored, I stamped a birthday sentiment from the set. I LOVE how large these sentiments are in the kit. Plus you get a variety of fonts and that’s a total bonus!

Adhering this panel to a black layering paper, it really made the flower bloom. Onto a white card base it went and this card was done.

I hope you score some really great products from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Joyful release. You can also check out some of my other cards using Simon Says Stamp products by clicking the link. Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you back here soon.

Alcohol Ink Valentine’s Day Card: Valentine’s Day Card Series Day 5

January 26, 2022

Hey everyone. We are to the final day of the Valentine’s Day Card Series for 2022. After watching a video by Tim Holtz I was inspired to pull out my alcohol pearl inks and play. And I’m so glad I did because the cards I created came out so pretty!  Let’s dive into the cards.

In the tutorial you will see how easy it was to create these gorgeous alcohol peal ink backgrounds. Remember, when you are playing or creating with alcohol inks just have fun. It takes practice to really learn how the inks will move so the more you use them the better you will understand how it flows.

The clean and simply style of these cards really make me happy. They were super easy to create and I will now leave my inks out more often to just create with no card design in mind.

Using that gorgeous Stylized Heart from Simon Says Stamp, pulls all this gorgeousness together.

You can watch the tutorial here or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy. Affiliate links are used before for the products used in the video are link below at no cost to you.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have enjoyed the series this year. See you back here soon.
