Holiday Card Series 2019 Day 28 – Guest Designer Rosemary Bridges

December 14, 2019

Happy Saturday everyone! My name is Rosemary Bridges of Rosemary’s Creations and today I am taking over Dana’s Blog to share some creations for her Got Joy Creations Holiday Card Series 2019. I had the pleasure of meeting this awesome woman at the Craft and Hobby Convention a couple years back and let me tell you…she is absolutely AMAZING! So, when she approached me about joining in her fun card
series, I JUMPED at the opportunity!

The Got Joy Creations Holiday Card Series started on November 17th, and ends today December 14th. Each day Dana featured various Guest Designers on her blog and her YouTube Channel. In addition, she also participated creating some of her own fabulous cards and tutorials. Make sure you scroll through this entire series for amazing holiday inspiration, giveaways and discount codes. Don’t forget to leave a comment on each blog post and YouTube video from November 17 until today to qualify for all of the fabulous giveaways!

Today just happens to be my birthday, and what better way to celebrate than having prizes! I’m giving away 3 bundles featuring stamps from The Greeting Farm and my favorite black hybrid ink pad from C.C. Designs. These prize bundles will also include a card and embroidery hoop ornament featuring the stamp set of the prize package.

PRIZE PACKAGE 1: TGF Peace On Earth  + CCD Black Ink Pad + Card + Ornament
PRIZE PACKAGE 2: TGF Holiday Anya 5 + CCD Black Ink Pad + Card + Ornament
PRIZE PACKAGE 3: TGF Holiday Anya 7 + CCD Black Ink Pad + Card + Ornament

I’m showcasing Prize Package 1 using Peace On Earth here on Dana’s Blog. You can see the additional two prize packages on my BLOG. Please leave a comment below for a chance at Prize Package 1, and then on my blog for a chance at winning Prize Packages 2 and 3.

The Greeting Farm stamps were my very first “character” stamps that I fell in LOVE with when I started card-making and blogging in 2010. My very first blog card features a TGF stamp so they will always hold a special place in my heart! Not to mention they create some of the cutest and most adorable stamps ever! I used some masking to create the scene and then colored the images with Copic Markers. The paper is from My Mind’s Eye Oh What Fun 6×6 Paper Pad. The circles were cut out using C.C. Designs Dies.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
Hair: E42, E47, E49
Red: R24, R27, R29, R56
Green: G94, G99
Blue: B93, B95, B97, B99
Teal on baby: BG72, BG75, BG78
Hay: Y21, YR27, E44
Manger: E42, E43, E44
Ground: W1, W3
For the ornament, I used a 4-inch embroidery hoop and embroidery fabric. I stamped the images onto the embroidery fabric using the C.C. Designs Hybrid Ink Pad, and then used a Copic Multiliner to fill in any broken lines. Once my image was stamped, I colored it in with Copic Markers using a light touch close to the edges. Be careful because the ink will bleed outside your stamped lines if you get too heavy handed! This ornament isn’t embroidered at all…just colored in with markers!

I hope you have enjoyed this entire series! I want to thank Dana again for letting me participate this year! I had fun creating these projects specifically for this card series! Remember to scroll through this entire series and leave comments on each blog post and YouTube video from November 17 until
today to qualify for all of the fabulous giveaways! Winners will be drawn on DECEMBER 16th so hurry and leave those comments!

Please head over to my blog, Rosemary’s Creations, to see the other two give-aways and leave comments there too!

Hugs,
Rosie

Holiday Card Series 2019 Day 27 – Guest Designer Mitsyana Wright

December 13, 2019

Hey, friends. It’s Mitsyana Wright from the Up On Tippy Toes Blog here with you and I’m taking over Dana’s blog to share in the fun of Dana’s Got Joy Creations Holiday Series for 2019. Make sure you are following this series for amazing holiday inspiration, giveaways, discount codes and don’t forget to leave a comment below to qualify all the giveaways. There will also be tutorials and cards shared by Dana as well and she will have a few surprises to share with you!

For some reason, whenever I imagine a snow-covered town with rolling hills, I think of white polar bears drinking bottles of cola. It makes me nostalgic for old Christmas commercials… You know which ones I’m talking about!! So today, I created this adorable winter scene card, in honor of those happy memories.

Mitsyana Wright

Supplies Used

  • Beary Christmas Stamp Set (Makers Movement)
  • Beary Christmas Die Set (Makers Movement)
  • Big Shot (Sizzix)
  • 110 lb White Cardstock (Recollections)
  • Light Blue Cardstock- Starmist (Bazzill)
  • VersaFine Onyx Black Ink (Tsukineko/ Imagine Crafts)
  • Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink – Salty Ocean (Ranger Ink)
  • Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink – Blueprint Sketch (Ranger Ink)
  • Mega Runner (Xyron)
  •  X 150 Sticker Maker (Xyron)
  • Life Changing Blender Brushes (Picket Fence Studios)
  • 140 lb Mixed Media Paper
  • Watercolor Pencils (Derwent Academy)
  • Water Soluble Markers (Derwent Academy)
  • White Gel Pen (Sakura)
  • MISTI (My Sweet Petunia)
  • Cutterbee Scissors (EK Success)
  • #2 Pencil
  • Fo

Using a MISTI, I stamped the images from the Beary Christmas Stamp Set onto mixed media paper with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. I colored the images using a combination of Derwent Academy Watercolor pencils and Water Soluble Markers. Then, I used a Big Shot and the matching Beary Christmas Die Set to die cut my bears, trees, and houses out.

Then I added tiny white details, such as polka dots and stripes, using a White Gel Pen onto the scarves and presents.

For the snowy village background, I started with a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Bazzill Starmist Canvas Textured Cardstock. I used the largest brush of my Life Changing Blender Brushes to ink on Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Inks.

I sketched out snowy hills onto plain white cardstock. Each hill is approximately 5″ long but varies between 1″ to 1.5″ high and tapers down to .25″. Then I hand-cut each hill out with scissors.

I inked each hill with more Salty Ocean ink and used a Xyron Mega Runner to attach them to the Starmist cardstock.

I ran my tiny house and tree die-cuts through my Xyron X 150 Sticker Maker and attached them onto my snowy hills.

Then, I placed my card front back into my MIST and stamped my sentiment across the top center of the card using more  VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

I tucked the tiny Christmas presents into the polar bears’ arms and attached them onto the card. Then, I added foam adhesive tape to the back of the polar bears and mounted them. I attached this entire winter scene onto a standard A2 card (4.25” x 5.5”-folded) made from white cardstock.

And here is my finished card…

I hope you enjoyed my card for today!

Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for more Holiday Inspiration!! The GJC Holiday Card Series runs from November 17 to December 14.  Each day Dana will have a Guest Designer right here on the blog sharing their holiday card ideas just like I did here today. Holiday Card Series – Day 26 Therm-O-Web and Gina K Designs

December 12, 2019

Hey everyone.  I’m back sharing a card using Therm-O-Web and Gina K. Designs products for inspiration.  There are two cards in this tutorial to get your really excited to use these products.  Adding sparkle to my holiday cards is a must.  Even if you keep it clean and simple, a little sparkle can go a long way.

Here is my first card using glitz glitter gel in silver and brilliant blue.  A simple stencil and a clean sentiment was perfect for this card.

For my next card I wanted to make a thin shaker card with a twist.  So I pulled out the peppermint twist toner sheets and red static transfer foil to pull this card together.  It was so easy and what a statement card.

Holiday Card Series 2019 Day 25 – Guest Designer Ashley Tucker

December 11, 2019

Hey crafty friends, this is Ashley Tucker and today I am taking over Dana’s blog! What do you guys think of the Holiday Card series so far? There have been some amazing cards and so much inspiration! I have a card to share with you today featuring a beautiful background stamp. For those of you who find coloring relaxing and therapeutic this card is perfect for you!

Now I am the kind of person that loves to color but, when it comes to coloring this intense, I really have to be in the mood. When I sat down to create this card I was in the mood for some coloring. So, I put on some Netflix (watching The Office for the umpteenth time), grabbed a coke, and picked out a detailed background stamp.

The Winter Floral Mix background stamp from Simon Says Stamp is an awesome Christmas themed stamp that is great for when you want to color. I stamped it using my Misti Tool onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock. I used Gina K Designs jet black amalgam ink, which is a wonderful Copic friendly ink.

For the coloring I used my Copic markers. Check out this Copic map to see all the colors I used!

Once the coloring was done, I trimmed it to be slightly smaller than 3.75×5. I wanted a tiny white border around the edge, so I matted the panel onto a piece of white cardstock which was cut to be 3.75×5. I created an A2 card base out of Simon Says Stamp peacock teal cardstock and popped up the colored in background onto that with foam tape.

I really wanted to keep the sentiment simple for this card so that the focus could be the coloring. I decided to use the Joyful Frame die from Simon Says Stamp. I love the very clean typography on this die set. I cut the background piece from metallic silver cardstock, and the word square from white cardstock. I glued them together and then adhered them to my card.

I hope you enjoyed this card design! Be sure to check out the rest of the Holiday Card series here on Dana’s blog and over on her YouTube channel. If you want to see more cards from me, I will post my social media links. Be sure to stop by and say hello!
