I have several cards for you today featuring several products from this release. For my first card I used the Illusion Heart Die. I have to say, this die is awesome for making clean and simple cards. Pulling in a simple color palette of red, black and white kept the card strikingly beautiful.

Keeping with the same colors this card is featuring the Swirl Motif 3D Embossing folder. This embossing folder gives such depth to a card with minimal effort. I used the left over pieces from the Illusions Heart die to finish off this card with a simple sentiment.

I also have a card using the Block Sentiments and Ribbon Wave 3D embossing folder and the Spotted Orchid Stamp Set and coordinating dies.

I have two cards for you today featuring products from the release. My first card I used the Floral Doodles and Scalloped Scallop die sets. These dies make beautiful cards. I love the border die and how pretty it looks on a card. The flowers are just a beautiful pop of red and green on this black background.

My second card features the Liner Crossroads die. What’s great about this die is it adds texture to your cards with very little effect. I die cut it in black cardstock a few times, layered them together for added weight. Pairing this with just a simple sentiment and my card was complete.

Let’s take a look at my card. I colored my image with alcohol markers and kept the card really simple. Clean and simple was my objective for this card today. Pairing this image with a simple sentiment and a few embellishments and my card was complete.

Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Carnations & Woodless Watercolor Pencils Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hey everyone. I’m participating in the Altenew – Paint A Flower Sunflower blog hop today. You should have arrived here from Tania’s blog. The Paint A Flower Sunflower is absolutely stunning and creates beautiful cards. Let me share what I’ve created.

For my card today I used the newly released Woodless Watercolor Pencils and the Paint-A-Flower Sunflower. I love sunflowers so this stamp set was perfect for me to color. With the new woodless pencils that I am currently obsessed with it was easy to create a gorgeous card.

Stamping my image in brown ink, I pulled a few of the watercolor pencils out and began to add color to my image. I pulled color directly from the pencil and also by adding color directly to the paper. Mixing tones of orange, yellow and greens allowed my palette to rest easily on my off white watercolor paper.

I made sure to build up my color gradually instead of all at once. Making sure to heat set the color before adding more. Once I had the last round of color on my image I heat set it once again.

Wanting to pull in some brown from the watercolor panel, I trimmed down my watercolor paper and layered it on a piece of dark brown cardstock. I only allowed the brown color to peek through at the top and left side of the image. To finish off my card I stamped a sentiment from the Paint-A-Flower Sunflower set and added a few gold baubles. I placed my panel onto a white card base.
