Cosmos and Lavender

February 29, 2024

Hey everyone. I’m finishing off the month with a Hero Arts Cosmos and Lavender card. The Cosmos and Lavender stamp set is such a beautiful set that pairs will with several of the Hero Arts Bold Prints. Pairing the flowers with the Words Of Peace Background bold print makes this card stunning.

Cosmos and Lavender

I first stamped the image with Hero Arts Intens-ified Black in onto layering weight vellum. Next I heat set the image with clear embossing powder. Using the coordinating die cut. I trimmed down the flower. To add color to the flower, I used Copic markers and colored the image on the backside. Once this was complete, it was time for the background.

Cosmos and Lavender

I stamped the Words Of Peace Bold Print in clear embossing ink and heat set it with gold embossing powder. Then I trimmed down this panel so I could adhere it to a nice black base. A clean white cardase was my go to choice for this card.

To adhere the flower to this panel, I die cut the flower one more from vellum and ran it though my sticker maker. This allowed for adhesive to cover the entire piece. I placed the colored flower on to the die cut piece and then ran the entire flower through my sticker maker again. By using a sticker maker, I didn’t need any glue and could just place this onto the peace background.

I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful today. If you would like to see more cards I have created this month using Hero Arts products you can click this link. Have a wonderful day everyone and I’ll see you back here soon.

Stay Golden Layering Stencil

August 22, 2023

Hey everyone. Hope you are having a great day. Today I have a card using the Stay Golden Color Layering Stencil from the Hero Arts August 2023 release. This card really does have my heart. Using a stamp and coordinating stencil makes a great card. However, when you only use the stencil, the card becomes super soft and pretty.

Stay Golden

The Stay Golden layering stencil really makes it easy to bring your flowers to life. The colors on this card work perfectly for layering the colors. Using light and dark variation of pinks and greens allow me to really build up the layers and gives me a beautiful result.

Stay Golden

By letting the gorgeous colorful flowers be the star, a quick happy birthday across the card with this panel matted on black completes the look.

Making sure not to add anything to distract from the card, I used a few white pearls on my card  for added dimension. Swooning over this card for sure. If you create this card, let me know what color combination you would use. Make sure to grab your Stay Golden Color Layering Stencil today. I will see you back here soon. Have a great day.

Altenew Build A Flower Laelia

First I must say I think this is one of my favorite flowers from the Build-A-Flower line. It’s just stunning to create with. I kept my card where the focal point is definitely on this gorgeous flower.

The inks I used on today’s card are Altenew’s Pink Pearl, Rouge, Coral Bliss, Coral Berry, Chamomile, Moss, Evergreen and Jet black.  For the background I used the Altenew Stripe Builder stencil with Silver Lake ink.

Absolutely loving the colors of inks I used for the Laelia. I kept the card really clean and simple and just used a small sentiment. Layering the floral panel on gray card stock worked nicely.

Altenew Paint-A-Flower: White Swan Echinacea Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ( $200 in total prizes)

August 22, 2021

Welcome to the Altenew Paint-A-Flower: White Swan Echinacea Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway.  You should have arrived here from Natalie’s blog. This blog hop is hosted by Altenew. I hope you are inspired by the hop to create a beautiful masterpiece using this new stamp. Let’s get into my card for today.

This beautiful stamp making a striking centerpiece on your cards. The designers and guest designers will show you just how much fun it is to create with this stamp. Starting off my card, I stamped the image in black ink onto watercolor paper. Using the Altenew Spring Watercolor Brush Markers I colored in this beautiful image. These markers are awesome for simple watercoloring.

Altenew Paint-A-Flower White Swan Echinacea

I watercolored the flowers first and fuzzy cut them out. Now it was time to set these aside and work on my background. To create the background I started off with a piece of green cardstock. Next I pulled out my Leaf Bed stencil and Altenew Moss ink to stencil on the leaves background. I love this stencil so much for creating simple backgrounds for cards.

I used more Moss ink towards the bottom of the panel and kept the top a little lighter. Next I used the Moss ink to saturate a piece of green cardstock to create a panel for my sentiment. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat set it with Altenew White Embossing Powder.

To finish off the card, I trimmed down my panel smaller to fit onto an A2 card panel. Using foam tape I popped up the flowers and placed them on the card. I also used foam tape to pop up the sentiment as well. I really love who this card turned out. Next on the hop is Jaycee. I’ve also included the entire hop list in case you get lost along the way.
