Hey peeps. I’m back today sharing a quick crafty card I made a few weeks ago. I love to watercolor so when I saw the Arts & Craft stamp set from The Ink Blot Shop I knew I had to have it. This stamp set features some of the cutest images for us crafty peeps. You can watercolor the images or color them with pencils or markers.
For my watercoloring today I used a inexpensive palette I picked up from Amazon awhile ago. I have a review of the palette here. It’s really a great palette for the price. I started off by stamping out the paint tube seven times so I could have all the colors of the rainbow. I colored each one leaving some high light areas around the top. Now I don’t get caught up on light source and all that. I just like to paint and make pretty things. (However I’m taking a watercolor class so I might change that when I’m more experienced).
Once I had all my painting done, I fussy cut each image with my spring action scissors. Next I grabbed a piece of fog cardstock for the base of my card. I popped each paint tube on a foam square and went in a circle-ish design round this piece after I stamped a sweet sentiment in the middle. To add a little bit of white to the card base, I pulled out my gelly roll pen .10 and drew dots around the edges of the card panel and a few around the paint tubes. Here’s a closeup of the card.
For my second card I pulled out the glue bottle, washi tape, paint bottle and sequin holder and got busy painting them as well. The text on each bottle was done by first drawing the word out with pencil and then going over it with a fine tip pen. Now it was time to add some Ink On 3 liquid pixie dust for sparkle. I fussy cut out each image and now they were ready for a card panel.
Again I kept the panel really simple with just a sentiment and faux stitching round the case base. I them alternated the images and stacked them on top of each other as if they were sitting on my shelf waiting to be used. This definitely was a fun card to make. The sentiments for both of these cards are from The Ink Blot Shop Arts and Crafts sentiment stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll see you back here soon with more card making inspiration. Have a great day everyone.
