Heart Turnabout Background: Valentine’s Day Card Series Day 3

January 19, 2022

Hey everyone. Welcome back to day 3 of the Valentine’s Day Card Series. The color palette for today is very retro and I love it. This has been one of my favorite color palettes for a while now and I even want to use it in my house now. LOL We are working with the Heart Turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th today along with a quick and easy sentiment. If you missed the start of the card series, you can visit day one here. Let’s get into the card.

Like I mentioned we are using the Heart Turnabout stamp to make a pretty background. The ink colors today are from Concord & 9th and they are Aqua Sky, Marmalade, Stardust and Wheat. This color palette will work for masculine or feminine cards.

Adding a little bit of dimension on the card by die cutting out the center with the Hero Arts Infinity Hearts dies gives the card a pretty eclipse look.

You can watch the tutorial here or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy. Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you.

Like I promised, here is a bonus card I made using the watercolor background. The panel was created using the same colors but instead of inks, I used liquid watercolors in the same colors from Concord and 9th. For this card I used the Waffle Flower Stitchable Pinking Heart die for my focal point. Stitching has become another hobby I’m really embracing. The pattern for this design was easy to create by just shifting the colors in the design.

DMC floss was my go to thread for the stitched heart. Here are a few color combos in the same palette you can use for stitching.

DMC726, DMC741, DMC779, DMC3761
or
DMC744, DMC3854, DMC3862, DMC747

I decided not to place a sentiment on this card and just let the beautiful stitching shine through.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed your visit. I’ll see you back here tomorrow for more Valentine’s Day card inspiration.

Concord and 9th Hip Hip Hooray

December 15, 2021

Hey everyone. I’m so thrilled to be a Concord & 9th Friend this month. You all know I’m a huge fan of Concord & 9th so today is extra special for me. Concord & 9th December release is full of ways to celebrate. Let me show you a card I made using some products from the release.

For my card I’m using the Concord & 9th Hip Hip Hooray and Celebrations Turnabout stamp sets. These two stamp sets work perfectly together to make a really fun card. I stamped the Celebration Turnabout onto Buttercup cardstock with Buttercup ink. The turnabout stamp can be stamped up to four times to make a fun background for your cards. For my card I decided to only stamp it twice.

I set this panel aside while I worked on the sentiments. The Hip Hip Hooray stamp set and coordinating Hip Hip Hooray dies are so grand on a card. The YAY in the stamp set is a layering stamp. I love that you can create some wonderful color combinations using this stamp. The colors are my card are Concord 7 9th Sorbet, Buttercup and Oceanside. These colors pair so nicely together.

I stamped the YAY onto white cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating die. Next I stamped out a few images with the Hip Hip stamp included in the set in Sorbet and Oceanside inks. I also die cut them out with their coordinating dies. All that was left wad to pull them into a layout on my card and add a touch of sparkle using a shimmer pen.

Sadly you can’t tell by the photos that I used clear baubles to cover each white circle in the YAY to make them look like they could be lights.  Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to head on over to the Concord & 9th Instagram page for inspiration from the Concord & 9th friends.

Valentine’s Day Card Series 2021 Day 5

February 5, 2021

WOW we are already to Friday and the end of the series. The Valentine’s Day Card Series 2021 Day 5 is all about Concord & 9th. I have been a HUGE fan of Greg and his team for years. I’m so very thrilled to share my series with such a great company.

Today’s card is All The Love! Yup that’s the name of the stamp set. This set come with coordinating dies and they work perfectly together.

This card to me is perfect for a masculine card. Even though it has pink on it, the mushroom color really plays it down. Now I’m not saying you can’t have pink on a masculine card. Oh no, rock whatever pink you want on a card. I just like to keep my pinks a little more muted if I use it on masculine cards. Now for the tutorial.  You can watch it here on my post or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.

Thanks so much for visiting this week.  I’ll be back with more inspiration soon.  Take care!

Concord & 9th Featured Friday – Color Spectrum

July 31, 2020

Hey everyone.  Today is my last Featured Friday for the month of July for Concord & 9th.  I’m using a color spectrum approach to my card.  Ever wish you knew what colors would look great together?  Let me help you out.  When choosing colors, make sure they look cohesive together.  The undertones of each color should be similar.

Concord and 9th Color Spectrum

As you can see by the stripes on my card, I made sure that all the colors were in the same hue.  No one color overpowers the other.  Now let me say this, it’s sooo easy to do with the new inks and papers from Concord and 9th.  The hues of these colors work perfectly together.

Color Spectrum

I used the Thank You stamp set from Concord and 9th for the stripes on my card.  Switching out each stripe in a different colors adds such a striking background. Using a simple yet effect pattern over the stipe lines adds texture to the card. To keep the sentiment clean and simple, I used the Double Cut Alphabet in the same colors are the stripes. I popped up each letter on fun foam to get each letter some height.

Concord & 9th Color Spectrum

All products used on this card are listed below.  Affiliate links are used at no cost to you.  Thanks for much for stopping by today.  See you back here soon.

Morning everyone. I'm up on the @heroarts blog tod Morning everyone. I'm up on the @heroarts blog today sharing a tutorial using the new Hero Arts Tiling Textures stamp set with the Gold Hero Wax. This wax goes on like butter and once dried it's wonderful to stamp on.

One of the tiles in the stamp set reminds me of honeycombs, so of course I needed to pull out cute bees from the Hero Arts Beelieve stamp set. It's a match made in heaven.

Head on over to the Hero Arts blog for more photos and a link to the tutorial. I also have a detail write up sharing how this card was created as well. Have a great day everyone.

Happy Friday everyone. I hope you're having a grea Happy Friday everyone. I hope you're having a great evening. Have you seen the @simonsaysstamp Dream Big release? Oh it really makes my heart happy.

I had the chance to color up these adorable unicorns from the Born the Sparkle stamp set. I mean these unicorns are just too darn cute. My medium of choice were my Copics makers. I decided this card need some dimension, I stamped the unicorns and clouds once on my panel card stock and again on a separate piece of card stock so I could color them. Next I fussy cut each one out to pop them up on my card.

This card really does make my heart happy. Unicorns for the win! Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
