October 1, 2021

(Affiliate links are used at no cost to you)

Good morning everyone. Today is the Altenew Build-A-Flower: Laelia Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes). As usual we have tons of inspiration for you. You should have arrived here from Terri’s blog. So let’s get into the card.

Altenew Build A Flower Laelia

First I must say I think this is one of my favorite flowers from the Build-A-Flower line. It’s just stunning to create with. I kept my card where the focal point is definitely on this gorgeous flower.

The inks I used on today’s card are Altenew’s Pink Pearl, Rouge, Coral Bliss, Coral Berry, Chamomile, Moss, Evergreen and Jet black.  For the background I used the Altenew Stripe Builder stencil with Silver Lake ink.

Absolutely loving the colors of inks I used for the Laelia. I kept the card really clean and simple and just used a small sentiment. Layering the floral panel on gray card stock worked nicely.

You can pick up the bundle pack of this gorgeous Build-A-Flower Laelia. If you are part of the Build-A-Flower Monthly Subscription plan you can save 14% off the retail price. The Build-A-Flower: Laelia will bring sunshine to your projects with some magnificent florals. In this set, you will find an outline image & six coloring layers for the flower and three layers for the leaves & stem – they will bring this gorgeous flower to life! We have also included two leafy branches and a variety of versatile sentiments so you can get the most out of this set!

Altenew Plentiful Patterns Stand-alone Dies/Stencils Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

August 26, 2021

Welcome to the Altenew Plentiful Patterns Stand-alone Dies/Stencils Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. You should have arrived here from Kelly’s blog. The new release is full of fantastic products from Altenew so let’s get started. I have several cards to share and I also have a tutorial.

Altenew Plentiful Patterns Blog Hop

My first card is using the Altenew Brick Rosette Layering Stencil. I really loved using this stencil as it create a beautiful background for your cards. I also kept the color palette very simple. If the colors look familiar they should. These are my brand colors.

I paired the card with the new You Matter Die. Love how big the you is in this set and the small additional dies really take this die to the next level.

You can watch the tutorial here on my blog or check it out over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.

My next card is featuring the Illusion Hexagon stencil along with the You Matter Die. This stencil is so awesome! First I used Altenew Rogue and Coral Berry inks on Rouge card stock from the Red Sunset Gradient Cardstock set to lay down my first color. Next, I shifted the stencil slightly and ink it up with white ink. Using this technique really steps up the stencil.

For the you dies,I also used a piece of Rouge cardstock and the same ink to make an ombre effect on the paper. I backed each die with black cardstock.

Adding just a touch of shimmer on the you with a Tonic Shimmer pen and a few black gems completed this panel. All that was left was to place the panel on a white card base.

Okay next on the hop is Jaycee. Now on the giveaways. There is $300 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $25 gift certificate to 8 winners! Altenew Paint-A-Flower: White Swan Echinacea Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ( $200 in total prizes)

August 22, 2021

Welcome to the Altenew Paint-A-Flower: White Swan Echinacea Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway.  You should have arrived here from Natalie’s blog. This blog hop is hosted by Altenew. I hope you are inspired by the hop to create a beautiful masterpiece using this new stamp. Let’s get into my card for today.

This beautiful stamp making a striking centerpiece on your cards. The designers and guest designers will show you just how much fun it is to create with this stamp. Starting off my card, I stamped the image in black ink onto watercolor paper. Using the Altenew Spring Watercolor Brush Markers I colored in this beautiful image. These markers are awesome for simple watercoloring.

Altenew Paint-A-Flower White Swan Echinacea

I watercolored the flowers first and fuzzy cut them out. Now it was time to set these aside and work on my background. To create the background I started off with a piece of green cardstock. Next I pulled out my Leaf Bed stencil and Altenew Moss ink to stencil on the leaves background. I love this stencil so much for creating simple backgrounds for cards.

I used more Moss ink towards the bottom of the panel and kept the top a little lighter. Next I used the Moss ink to saturate a piece of green cardstock to create a panel for my sentiment. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat set it with Altenew White Embossing Powder.

To finish off the card, I trimmed down my panel smaller to fit onto an A2 card panel. Using foam tape I popped up the flowers and placed them on the card. I also used foam tape to pop up the sentiment as well. I really love who this card turned out. Next on the hop is Jaycee. I’ve also included the entire hop list in case you get lost along the way.

Why not try out the  Paint-A-Flower Monthly Subscription Plan. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in our monthly Paint-A-Flower releases and will receive a set each month – at a specially discounted price! Morning everyone. It's another day for valentine c Morning everyone. It's another day for valentine cards. In today's tutorial I made a trio of valentine cards from one background. This was so easy and so much fun to make. Where are my Distress Oxide Spray lovers?

With three colors of @tim_holtz Distress Oxide Sprays these cards were created. I don't have all the sprays and are "collecting" them little by little. The fear of using these sprays have been unleashed. 😂😂😂 After watching more and more videos from Tim, my nervousness of "messing it up" has been replaced by "oh that's so pretty".

By using just two die cuts from products from the January 2023 release from @heroarts

The link for the tutorial is in the bio and I hope I inspire you to start creating your Valentine's Day Cards.

I stamped the image several times in different color inks from Gina K. Designs. The colors are Passionate Pink, Wild Dandelion, Key Lime, Lucky Clover and Ocean Mist. Next I filled in the area using my W-G 7 @olomarker to change the paper from white to this pretty warm gray color.

While I was stamping the images, I made sure to leave a section blank where I could place my Happy Birthday sentiment. This was such a great card to great.
