Altenew 8th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 3 + Giveaway (over $2,000 in Total Prizes)

April 6, 2022

Welcome to the Altenew 8th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 3! This is a hop with over $2,000 in total prizes. You should have arrived here from Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog. I have so much to share with you today so let’s get started.

My anniversary card for the Altenew hop was created using the Paint-A-Flower Sweet Pea stamp set. This stamp is so precious and easy to color. The sweet pea holds the symbolic meaning of blissful pleasure. Its upright, clumping flower clusters also symbolize good wishes, friendship, kindness, and goodbyes. It’s such a beautiful flower to gift someone who might be moving away or as a gift of new friendship. A simple watercolor was with the Altenew Woodless Watercolor Pencils made coloring this flower so easy.

A simple sentiment offset from the sweet pea keeps the card simple and elegant. With a light splatter of gray watercolor creating just a little texture.

Clean and simple with just a hint of color from the pencils and this card was almost complete. To finish off the card I trimmed down the white panel so I could have a midtone gray card stock peek behind the panel before I placed it on a white card base.

Hero Arts Spring Catalog 2022 Blog Hop

February 15, 2022

Welcome to the Hero Arts Spring Catalog 2022 blog hop. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. Today I’ll be sharing card inspiration using newly released products from the spring catalog. So let’s get into the cards shall we?

The first card is featuring the Flowers In Vase stamp set. This stamp set has the large flowers and nine sentiments. Also available are the coordinating frame cuts and layering stencils. The flowers are a wonderful graphic design and they fill up a card nicely. Pair this stamp with a simple background stamp like the Passing Clouds Bold Print to make a simple yet elegant card.

For my next card, I’m still working with florals. The simple Tulip Bouquet has seven sentiments in the set and a few little critters. It also have a coordinating frame cut and color layering stencil. Within the catalog there are coloring suggestions to make your card making super easy. So if you don’t have the new Spring Catalog 2022 I would suggest picking it up as it’s full of inspiration.

And my last card today is featuring a sentiment from the Let’s Celebrate stamp set. We all need a little bit of celebrating every now and again and this stamp set is perfect for those style of cards. I paired one of the sentiments with the United People Bold Print stamp. By ink blending the background this card came together in no time.

The simple sentiment really makes the card stand out.

Next on the hop is Daniel. We will give away THREE $50 gift cards, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, February 20 at 11:59pm pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week. Have fun on the hop and I’ll see you back here soon.

Altenew NEW Year-End Celebration Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

December 17, 2021

Welcome Altenew NEW Year-End Celebration Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes). You should have arrived here from Tenia. Today’s release is all about celebrations. Let’s take a peek at the card I made.

I decided that a dramatic card was necessary to kick off this celebration. The products I used for this card are the Lovely Daisies die set and the Mega Stamp Frame die set.  These two dies set work so beautifully together. I used Concord & 9th Grapefruit, Sorbet, Buttercup, Stardust, Parsley and Evergreen cardstock for the flower. And the sentiment was made with C&9 Grapefruit card stock.  The black cardstock is Hero Arts Pitch Black.

Pairing these two products together on a black card base really makes the card pop. For the background, I used my score board to add some texture to my card with vertical lines. This is such an easy way to make a simple card base stand out.

You could also use an embossing folder with a clean design that doesn’t overpower the flower as well for texture.

Now let’s talk about giveaways. To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $25 gift certificate to 8 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 12/23/2021 for a chance to win.  Altenew will draw 10 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 12/25/2021.

Next on the hop is Emily. Have a great day hopping through the designer’s blogs. Good luck everyone.

Altenew NEW Sweet Moments Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

December 3, 2021

Welcome to the Altenew NEW Sweet Moments Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. You should have arrived here from Jaycee’s blog. Let’s get into the cards I have for you today.

My first card is featuring the new All Things Sweet Stamp Set and the Woven Basket 3D Embossing folder. I tried my hand at making a monochromatic color palette instead of the usual bright palette you might find with a stamp set like this. This is a layering stamp set so it was super easy to pull out some gray tone inks from my Altenew ink collection to make this card come to life.

The Woven 3D Embossing folder was the perfect backdrop for this card. Instead of keeping it stark white, I decided to draw one of the gray ink cubes over it to give a little color to the texture of the folder. I finished off the card with a sentiment and glossy accents over the ice cream glass.

My next card is a bit more colorful. For this card I used the Altenew Colorful Soul stamp set. Oh this stamp set is SOOO pretty to work with. I kept this card rather clean and simple and let the flowers and sentiment be the stars of the card.

The palette was a little on the softer side with my ink choices and I love the way it plays against all the white of the background. For the background, I used my score board to make the indentations of lines and it really set the mood for the pretty flowers.

And finally, my last card was made with the Altenew Pots and Plants stamp set. As soon as I saw this stamp set I knew exactly how I wanted to use it. By coloring only one of the plants on a stark black and white backdrop really makes the colored image pop! Clean art like this is right up my alley.

Also I  love this stamp set as I have a similar plant in my living room. At least this one on the card was easy to care for. LOL (Not the best green thumb woman in the world. However I’m getting better at keeping my plants alive). A simple sentiment and this card was done!

Now let’s get into the giveaways. Altenew is giving away a total  of $3oo in prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $25 gift certificate to 8 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 12/09/2021 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 10 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 12/11/2021.

Next on the hop is the Emily. I’m hoping you have a fabulous hop. Good luck with the giveaway and I’ll see you back here soon.

You should have arrived from Bridget’s blog. We hope to inspiration you with the new release from Altenew. Let’s get into the cards.

Altenew Glint & Glimmer Hot Foil Plates, Embossing Folders and Stencils Collection Release

This hot foil plate also has a coordinating stencil you can use with it. To create the look of my card I first hot foiled the rose onto a piece of white cardstock. Next I blended the card panel with Altenew Mint Choc and Altenew Pistachio inks. Once the blending was complete, I used the coordinating stencil so I could add detail to the petals of the rose. This card is even prettier in real life. I used the new Sentiments Banner Hot Foil Plates to create my sentiment strip. To cut out the sentiment strip, I used the Sentiment Banners Cover Die to die cut each strip out. I’ll now have extra strips for future cards.

My next card is featuring the new Altenew Dotty Circles 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is just perfect for those quick and easy cards. All that was required to complete this card was a sentiment. I again used the Sentiments Banner Hot Foil Plate and coordinating dies. The sentiments from both cards are from the Sentiment Strips stamp set.

Morning everyone. It's another day for valentine c Morning everyone. It's another day for valentine cards. In today's tutorial I made a trio of valentine cards from one background. This was so easy and so much fun to make. Where are my Distress Oxide Spray lovers?

With three colors of @tim_holtz Distress Oxide Sprays these cards were created. I don't have all the sprays and are "collecting" them little by little. The fear of using these sprays have been unleashed. 😂😂😂 After watching more and more videos from Tim, my nervousness of "messing it up" has been replaced by "oh that's so pretty".

By using just two die cuts from products from the January 2023 release from @heroarts

The link for the tutorial is in the bio and I hope I inspire you to start creating your Valentine's Day Cards.

The January 2023 release for @ginakdesigns is now The January 2023 release for @ginakdesigns is now available. The Terrific Textures stamp designed by @melaniemuenchinger was so much fun to play with.

I stamped the image several times in different color inks from Gina K. Designs. The colors are Passionate Pink, Wild Dandelion, Key Lime, Lucky Clover and Ocean Mist. Next I filled in the area using my W-G 7 @olomarker to change the paper from white to this pretty warm gray color.

While I was stamping the images, I made sure to leave a section blank where I could place my Happy Birthday sentiment. This was such a great card to great.
