Holiday Foliage With Bright Colors

September 8, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m so excited as I received my first Simon Says Stamp Stamptember order.  I couldn’t wait to play with this gorgeous stencil called Holiday Foliage from Simon Says Stamp.  As soon as I saw it on the site I knew I wanted to pull out my Therm O Web Deco Foil transfer gel so I could foil with rainbow foil from Therm O Web.  Using the Holiday Foliage stencil and the deco foil transfer gel afforded me the opportunity to make something amazing.

Simon Says Stamp Holiday Foliage

This product is so easy to use.  All you need to do is smooth on some of the transfer gel through a stencil, peel off the stencil and your design off to the side to dry.  Once it is dried (it will go from a creamy white to a shiny clear coating) you are ready to foil.  Shifting the rainbow foil to all use a portion of the colors was perfect for this design.   To adhere the foil to the design I ran this it through my laminator and then the giggled began.  As I peeled back the foil to reveal my design I could of  burst with happiness.  I mean, who wouldn’t love their holiday foliage to be in these colors?

Simon Says Stamp Holiday Foliage

Keeping my panel very simple to not distraction is a perfect way to show this design element.  To keep my panel from laying directly onto my card base, I trimmed it down and placed it on some fog card stock from Simon Says Stamp.  Next I ran my joyful die from Simon Says Stamp through my Gemini Jr. using the Therm O Web foam adhesive sheet.  I peeled off the protective covering and applied some gold deco foil over it.

Now it was time to bring  more gold on my card so I trimmed a strip of foam adhesive and covered it with gold deco foil.  Placing it  neatly down the side of the design piece  I was able to bring the design all together.  I place everything on a white card base and added faux stitching around the foliage piece for some added interest.

I truly love how this came out and I can’t wait to make more background with this stencil and Therm O Web products. To see more projects using Therm O Web products, you can click my Therm O Web gallery.  Thanks for stopping by today. See you back here soon.

Brea Reese Galaxy and Big Dot Background Cards

September 4, 2019

Hey peeps.  With hurricane Dorian never making land fall I was able to still craft my weekend away.  Making Brea Reese galaxy and big dot background cards was a better way to spend my time.  Let me share with you the two cards I made.

For my first card I made a galaxy background with several alcohol inks on Brea Reese waterproof paper.  I set this panel aside to dry while I worked on my design.  When I’m making cards, I like to have a plan.  I may sketch out the design first or I may already have a design in mind.  For this one I knew I wanted to use the new Waffle Flower Big Dots die.  I could use the left over pieces to make another card.

Brea Reese Galaxy background

Once the panel was completely dried I ran it through my Gemini Jr. with the Waffle Flower Big Dots Die.  Since I also knew I wanted to make this a shaker card I cut out additional backgrounds so I could stack them all together.  I needed to have a background for the panel to sit on so I grabbed my distress oxide inks to create the colorful back drop.  Since the galaxy panel was really busy I didn’t want to risk stamping a sentiment in the middle.  Instead I pulled out my hello die from Pink and Main and die cut it out of silver paper.  I also die cut additional hellos to stack the sentiment for weight.

Brea Reese Galaxy and Polka Dot Background

Now it was time to assemble the card.  To make things easy I took the Big Dot die and used a pencil to tray the dot areas on the background panel. I pulled out some colorful sequins and placed them in a few of the dots areas for the shaker aspect of the card.  Once I had that complete, it was time to place the galaxy background on top. Using the pencil to trace the openings made it super easy to line up.  To complete the card I added the sentiment and adhere the entire panel to a white card base.  I literally squealed when this card was complete. 😍Brea Reese Galaxy and Polka Dot background

Now let’s see what I did with all those left over dots.  It was so easy to put a card together with the galaxy dots that were left over.  I placed the Big Dot die onto a white card panel and traced around each opening so I had a grid on my paper.  I then adhered dots onto the traced lines and the card came together quickly.

For the sentiment I used one of the sentiments from the Big Dot Sentiment stamp also from Waffle Flower.  I wanted to have color on this sentiment that matched a color in the galaxy dots so I used the archival ink in the color of plum from Ranger.

Brea Reese Polka Dot Card

I layered this piece onto a purple background and adhere the panel to a white card base.  This card is stunningly beautiful in real life.  The different colors I was able to achieve with the Brea Reese alcohol inks is what totally made this card so beautiful.  Remember if you have an alcohol ink background that you’re not sure you completely love it, pull out die cuts and make backgrounds with them.  You can use word dies, shaped dies or cover plates like this one from Waffle Flower.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I have all the products I used listed below for your shopping convenience.  Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you back here soon.

Bouquet Of Roses – Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

August 26, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m joining in on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge using the Bouquet of Roses stencil and some distress oxide inks. The theme for this week is clean and simple.  This card totally works as it’s almost a one layer card with a simple design.  I started off the card by adhering my stencil over a piece of bristol card stock with Pixie Spray.  I carefully added worn lipstick and spiced marmalade to the flowers and used citron and mowed lawn for the leaves.  Before I removed the stencil I spritzed on some shimmer spray to activate the colors but also for the sparkle.

Bouquet of Roses

Once this panel was dried I ran it through my Gemini Jr. with a stitched rectangle die and stamped a sentiment from the Handmade Happiness stamp from Hero Arts.  I love how this card turned out.

I adhered the panel to a coral layering card stock panel and then onto a white card base.  The simplicity of this card using the Bouquet of Roses stencil is awesome and will be easy to mass produce. If you haven’t joined in on the challenge, there is still time.  Head on over to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge to link up your project.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I’ll see you back here soon!  Have a great day.
