25 Days Of Christmas Tags

November 12, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m participating in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags with Tracy McNeely.  I think this is second time I’ve participated and it is so much fun.  Today the Pink and Main team is sharing tags with you today. I love a great holiday tag and this one is no exception. I used the Deck The Palms stamp set from Pink and Main along with the Be Merry 6×6 paper pad. This paper pad and stamp set will create beautiful tags for your holiday gifts.

Pink and Main Holiday tag

For my tag, I cut the shape using a die cut.  Next I trimmed down a piece of paper from the Be Merry 6×6 paper pad to fit the front of my tag.  I used a sentiment from the Deck the Palms stamp set to stamp the sentiment and adhered this panel to the tag base.  Next I stamped out the adorable image in black ink and colored it with my Copic markers.  Using the coordinating die, I cut out the image and popped it on the tag using foam squares.  All that was left was to add some pretty ribbon to the top of my tag and my tag was finished.

Here is a close up of how cute this little tag is.  Oh I did add a little sparkle around the wreath along with glossy accents.  This helps keep the image fun and festive.

I can’t wait to see all the tags everyone is making.  All the details for the 25 Days of Holiday Tags is over on Tracey’s blog.  Have a great day everyone I’ll see you back here soon.

Holiday Ornaments With Brea Reese

November 2, 2019

Hey everyone.  Happy Saturday.  I’ve made some holiday ornaments with Brea Reese alcohol inks for one of may holiday cards this year.  These were so easy to pull together and you can make the ornaments any color or combo of colors you wish.  Holiday ornaments with Brea Reese alcohol inks are a perfect way to use up some of those alcohol ink backgrounds you might still have laying around.  Let me share with you how I made mine.

Holiday Ornaments With Brea Reese alcohol inks

First I stared out making a quick background using alcohol inks.  I made sure to keep the colors bright and in a “somewhat” rainbow order on my paper.  Once everything was dry I splattered on some gold liquid metal alcohol ink and white gouache for some added interest.  Next I pulled out an ornament die from my stash and selected the colors from the background paper I wanted to create ornaments with.  My alcohol ink paper was large so I’ll get plenty of ornaments out of it.  Once I die cut out each ornament I backed each one with silver glitter paper.  This gives the center of each ornament some sparkle.

Holiday Ornaments With Brea Reese

For added weight I layered the alcohol piece with the glitter center onto another die cut ornament from white card stock.  This will keep the ornament from being to flimsy.  Now it was time to add the topper and ribbon.  I die cut the ornament toppers from the same silver glitter paper and adhered them to the ornaments with liquid glue.  Next I die cut out the ribbons from white card stock and colored each one with a coordinating Copic marker.  I adhered the ribbons to each ornament with liquid glue. Adding fam dots to the back of each ornament will help me to pop them up on my background.

For added interest, I die cut a quilted backdrop from white card stock and slid in a backer piece of rainbow striped design paper behind it.  This way to color could peek through each flower.  The colors are lined up behind each coordinating ornament.  This looks so awesome in person. Adding a sentiment in rainbow colors kept the card cheerful. I will have to say this is one of my favorite holidays cards I have made so far this year.  It just screams happiness to me.  Here is a link to more Brea Reese alcohol ink projects I have made.  All the products I used for this card are listed below.  These are affiliate links however there is no cost to you for using them. Thanks for stopping by today.  I’ll see you back here next week.

Oh Deer – Ink On 3 October Release

October 25, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m back with a card using the Oh Deer stamp set from Ink On 3.  This Oh Deer stamp set perfect for birthday, friends and Christmas cards.  I started the card off on Youtube however it was not working correctly. I moved over to Periscope and started more watercoloring on this image.  You can find my live periscope by clicking here.

As you can see I did no line watercoloring with the Oh Deer stamp set and  fadeout ink from Ink On 3.  I used the watercolor palette from Altenew to do the basic coloring.  To add more outlines and depth I used watercolor pencils and my polychrome color pencils.

Ink On 3 Oh Deer

This image was so relaxing to color.  Here’s a tip, if you are nervous about no line coloring, give it a try on larger images.  It won’t seem so intimidating if you do that.  Remember to use a medium you are comfortable with.  That way you won’t be struggling with a medium and image at the same time.

Ink On 3 Oh Deer

After I colored the image, I die cut it out with the coordinating die.  To keep the background as simple as possible, I went straight for my distress oxide inks and a simple stencil.  This stencil really draws your eye directly to the colored image.

You’ll be seeing this image again in my upcoming Holiday Card Series for 2019.  I can’t wait to share this series with you.  I have some fabulous guest joining me this time to share in the festivities.  It’s going to be awesome.  Make sure you keep an eye out for the official announcement.  Oh did I mention, discount codes during the series? 😉  Yup, I will have a few of them to share with you for all your holiday shopping at the stores I used during the series.

That’s it for today everyone.  Have a great day.
