Hey everyone. I’m sneaking peeking the soon to be released Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for June 2022. This kit is swimming with fantastic underwater cardmaking fun.
Welcome to the Altenew June 2022 Today is the Day Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. You should have arrived here from Natalie’s blog. Let’s get into the hop.
My card today is featuring the new Altenew Climbing Leaves stamp set and coordinating Climbing Leaves die. Creating my card was so much fun. Using white cardstock, I blended on a base color of Altenew Bamboo ink to create a gorgeous green backdrop for my leaves. Next I stamped the Climbing Leaves stamp set in Altenew Parrot ink.
Using the coordinating die I die cut out the leaves. For a pop of color behind the die, I used the Altenew two pieces of Rouge card stock from the Red Sunset Gradient Cardstock set. Using Altenew Rouge ink I stamped out a few sentiments from the Altenew Bold Sentiments stamp set. These sentiments were popped up on the top of the card. Next the card panel was placed onto a white card base measuring 6×6.
My next card was created using a sentiment from the Climbing Leaves stamp set and the Altenew Linked Ovals Embossing Folder. A bright yellow really allowed the embossing folder to create a beautiful border for the sentiment.
When using embossing folders, stretch your design by cutting the design in half so a sentiment will fit nicely in between. A few yellow gems finished off this card.
For my last card I used the Altenew Sentimental Florals stamp set and coordinating Sentimental Florals stencil and dies. I have to say this card is absolutely my favorite. Keeping the card clean and simple but with a graphic layout really makes this card a winner. Pulling colors from the flowers, I added a graphic element by splitting the background with pink and black cardstock.
A soft purple was blended in the center of the flowers to keep the color palette working. A simple sentiment heat embossed in white onto black cardstock kept the card simple. For added interest, a few white pearls were added to complete the card design.

Hey everyone. I’m over on the Hero Arts blog sharing a set of bookmarks I made using products from the new mix media release.
The instructions and products I used will be linked over on the blog.
Come get creative with me. See you over there.
Welcome to the Hero Arts Summer Mix Media Release Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. Hero Arts has branched out into the mix media world and I am here for it. The creative team has done a fantastic job showcasing the new products for the new catalog. Let’s get hopping shall we?
My first project I have tile I made using the new Abstract Expressionist Bold Print. I stamped the tile with Hero Arts Watermark and Embossing Ink and then heat set it with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. (Make sure to treat the tile first with anti-static powder). Once the heat embossing was complete, I used several colors of alcohol ink to fill in some of the areas of the design. Now it was time to seal the tile.
Deciding how to seal the tile was a little tricky. My first try I used a clear spray sealant however it started to eat away at the embossing powder. So instead of using a clear spray sealant, I used a pouring medium instead. Make sure to allow the first layer of sealant to completely dry before you add a second layer if you need to. Once the sealant was dried, I added a cork backing to make sure the tile back was covered to prevent scratching any surface.
My next project is featuring the new Hero Art Picasso Inspired Stencil. As you can tell by these projects I’m channeling my inner bold graphic designer. Starting off with Dove White Cardstock, I adhered the stencil to the cardstock and ink blending on Hero Arts Red Royal and Navy inks using Hero Arts Blending Brushes making sure to leave a gap between the colors to maintain a white area. After ink blending, I removed the stencil and die cut the Happy from the Happy Thanks Stamp and Cut XL.
I also die cut the happy several times from Hero Arts Cherry Cardstock so I could add dimension to the sentiment once I glued it back in place. Using the Hero Arts Months ad Day stamp set, I stamped out the sub-sentiment for the July 4th on Cherry and Nautical cardstock using embossing ink and white embossing powder. What a way to bring in Independence Day with a great card. A small addition of red and blue sequin and a little rounding off of the panel finished off this card nicely.
Last but not least, I create a card using the new Flower Circle Stencil. To create a pretty backdrop for the stencil, I first watercolored a panel of Hero Arts Luxe White Watercolor paper using Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors in Artprint Brown, Cocoa, Terracotta, Coffee and Pink. By mixing the colors I was able to create this beautiful wash of color by adding just a touch of satin white acrylic paint to the mix.
Next I embossed the flower circle stencil in gold embossing powder. For the sentiment in the middle of the circle, I used a sentiment from the Art Journal Messages stamp set and heat embossed it in white embossing powder. To embellish the card, I used the Critters and Silhouette stamp set to create a pretty little butterfly embossed in gold and white embossing powder.
Hoping I really inspired you today using the new products from the Summer Mix Media release. Next up on the hop is Daniel. Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day and I’ll see you back here soon.

Here’s a look at my card. I had so much fun creating. I started with Hero Arts Pebbles cardstock and the Brick Cling Background stamp. Then heat embossed it in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder to create the background. Now it was time to add the kitchen.
Using Hero Arts Dove White cardstock, I die cut the little kitchen twice. Cutting it twice, I was able to create a heavier piece of cardstock. Next I pulled out my Copic Markers and did a little bit of coloring. For the stove and the hood I used silver matte cardstock.
I made a tutorial showing you how I pulled the card together. You can watch it here or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.
Let’s not forget my bonus card using the Hero Arts Eggcellent stamp set. OMG this stamp set is fantastic. I created a little table for my kitchen set up to be displayed. Again I used my Copic markers to color this one up. Make sure to grab the bundle for this stamp set. You will really want to have the matching dies for this set.
