Valentine’s Day Card Series 2019 – Day 2 Nuvo Gilding Flakes

January 25, 2019

Hey peeps.  Today is Day 2 of my Valentine’s Day Card Series for 2019.  I’m super excited to share this tutorial with you today.  I had been requested to make a masculine card for one of my cards this year and to use Tonic Nuvo Gilding Flakes.  So I combined these request and came up with this card. I made sure not to use the traditional Valentine’s Day colors of pink, red and white.  Something about this Flowing Heart stencil for Altenew reminded me of flames so I choose to use mustard seed, carved pumpkin and candied red distress oxide inks for my card.  I will also show you how to use the Nuvo gilding flakes without having to use glue.

Here’s a quick tutorial.  You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I’ve used affiliate links for your convenience at no cost to you.

Thanks for stopping by. See you back here soon.

Heading To Creativation 2019

January 15, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m so excited to be going to Creativation again this year.  This will be my third year attending and I’m so blessed that I can.  If you are unfamiliar with what Creativation is, it’s the Craft and Hobby Association trade show.  This is where companies share their new products to the industry.  Gina K Designs, Heffy Doodlebug Designs, Altenew, and Pink and Main are just a few of the companies that had booths this year.  I also get to see my crafty friends and take a few classes.

This craft community is great for making friends and building lasting relationships with companies.  Since last year I have worked with so many great companies because I had the chance to meet the owners live and in person.  It makes my heart happy to know that this community has the best energy to make my paper crafting easy to do.

Here are a few pictures from last year.  I have over 200 pictures so I can’t share them all here.  😉

Lesley Oman – owner of Heffy Doodle.

Kathy Racoosin – The Daily Marker (owner of The 30 Day Color Challenge)

The very talented Ruby from A Rare Ruby  and Nina Marie from Nina Marie Design.

The one and only Jennifer Mcguire of Jennifer Mcguire Ink.

The incredible Amber from Damask Love and my gorgeous side kick Pam from PoconoPam.

Make sure to follow me on my Facebook page Got Joy Creations and Instagram as I’ll to posting and doing videos from the showroom floor.  I will be posting a card on Thursday for Pink and Main so look out for that post.  Wednesday Jan 23, 2019 I will be starting my Valentine’s Day Card Series for 2019.  So be ready for some fabulous tutorials. Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you back here soon.

Hugs,

Dana

Holiday Card Series 2018 – Day 11

November 28, 2018

Hey peeps.  We are down to the wire on the holiday card series.  I hope you have enjoyed and been inspired by the videos you have seen this year.  Today we are doing some light watercoloring and using a beautiful stamp set from Mama Elephant called Joy Ornaments.  I can’t believe I’m already to day 11 and having used a stamps set with my last name on it. 😉  I have an additional video using these inexpensive watercolor palettes from Amazon.  You can see it here on my Hero Arts August 2018 Card Kit video.

Here’s a quick tutorial.  You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I’ve used affiliate links for your convenience at no cost to you.

Thanks for watching and we will wrap up the card series next week.  I have a few sneak peeks to share with you tomorrow from Technique Tuesday.

Holiday Card Series 2018 – Day 10

November 26, 2018

Hey peeps.  Holiday Card Series 2018 Day 10 is upon us and this one might just be my favorite.  Instead of doing a card today I’m sharing with you a holiday treat to give out to family and friends.  The Pot Bellies from Papertrey Ink is such a cute little die cut to make the cutest little treat holders.

These little penguins are so easy to put together and making them in different colors is the perfect way to indiviualize them for your recipients.  There is also a Santa and I think a reindeer available over at Papertrey Ink.

Here’s a quick tutorial.  You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I’ve used affiliate links for your convenience at no cost to you.
Thanks for stopping by today.  See you back her for Day 11 soon.

Concord & 9th October Release All Season Turnabout Stamp Set

October 26, 2018

Hey peeps.  Welcome back to another Concord and 9th October Release post.  Today I’m sharing a few products with you.  First we have the All Seasons Turnabout stamp set.  I paired this along with the Notable Numbers stamps and coordinating die cut to make this card.

For my background I stamped the turnout stamp four times so create this soft background in barely beige ink on fog cardstock.  Next I stamped the happy birthday in caribbean blue on the panel using my Misti to curve my birthday stamp.  I used the Notable Numbers stamps and coordinating die cuts for the 18 which was stamped in cobblestone ink.  The “th” was stamped directly on the card panel. I layered this on light navy cardstock and added some sequin before putting it all on a white card base. I also notched my birthday panel to add interest to the corners.

For my next project I used the new 2019 calendar along with the All Seasons Turnabout to make my decorative January calendar.  I stamped the images in Simon Says Stamp Caribean Blue, Barely Beige and Cobblestone inks.  For a pop of blue I used Catherine Pooler Stone Blue ink.  I used the monthly sentiments and the matching die cut to add the month to my calendar.

You can see this calendar sitting on a cute easel.  This easel was made with the new easel die from Concord and 9th.  This die is so easy to use to create wonderful and colorful easels.  You can also use it to display cards as I have done in the photos above.

Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to head on over to Concord and 9th to see the other beautiful projects that have for you today.
