Holiday Foliage With Bright Colors

September 8, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m so excited as I received my first Simon Says Stamp Stamptember order.  I couldn’t wait to play with this gorgeous stencil called Holiday Foliage from Simon Says Stamp.  As soon as I saw it on the site I knew I wanted to pull out my Therm O Web Deco Foil transfer gel so I could foil with rainbow foil from Therm O Web.  Using the Holiday Foliage stencil and the deco foil transfer gel afforded me the opportunity to make something amazing.

Simon Says Stamp Holiday Foliage

This product is so easy to use.  All you need to do is smooth on some of the transfer gel through a stencil, peel off the stencil and your design off to the side to dry.  Once it is dried (it will go from a creamy white to a shiny clear coating) you are ready to foil.  Shifting the rainbow foil to all use a portion of the colors was perfect for this design.   To adhere the foil to the design I ran this it through my laminator and then the giggled began.  As I peeled back the foil to reveal my design I could of  burst with happiness.  I mean, who wouldn’t love their holiday foliage to be in these colors?

Keeping my panel very simple to not distraction is a perfect way to show this design element.  To keep my panel from laying directly onto my card base, I trimmed it down and placed it on some fog card stock from Simon Says Stamp.  Next I ran my joyful die from Simon Says Stamp through my Gemini Jr. using the Therm O Web foam adhesive sheet.  I peeled off the protective covering and applied some gold deco foil over it.

Now it was time to bring  more gold on my card so I trimmed a strip of foam adhesive and covered it with gold deco foil.  Placing it  neatly down the side of the design piece  I was able to bring the design all together.  I place everything on a white card base and added faux stitching around the foliage piece for some added interest.

I truly love how this came out and I can’t wait to make more background with this stencil and Therm O Web products. To see more projects using Therm O Web products, you can click my Therm O Web gallery.  Thanks for stopping by today. See you back here soon.

Bouquet Of Roses – Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

August 26, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m joining in on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge using the Bouquet of Roses stencil and some distress oxide inks. The theme for this week is clean and simple.  This card totally works as it’s almost a one layer card with a simple design.  I started off the card by adhering my stencil over a piece of bristol card stock with Pixie Spray.  I carefully added worn lipstick and spiced marmalade to the flowers and used citron and mowed lawn for the leaves.  Before I removed the stencil I spritzed on some shimmer spray to activate the colors but also for the sparkle.

Once this panel was dried I ran it through my Gemini Jr. with a stitched rectangle die and stamped a sentiment from the Handmade Happiness stamp from Hero Arts.  I love how this card turned out.

I adhered the panel to a coral layering card stock panel and then onto a white card base.  The simplicity of this card using the Bouquet of Roses stencil is awesome and will be easy to mass produce. If you haven’t joined in on the challenge, there is still time.  Head on over to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge to link up your project.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I’ll see you back here soon!  Have a great day.

Simon Says Stamp Pretty Peony Background – IT’S BEAUTIFUL

August 23, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m back sharing a card using the Simon Says Stamp Pretty Peony background stamp.  I’ve had this card made for months but totally forgot to share it here on my blog.

I stamped out the image onto watercolor paper in memento ink. Pulling out my watercolors and Prismacolor pencils was a great decision for this card since I was able to really build up with color on this piece. Watercoloring always takes me to a happy place.  I try not to overthink my color when I work with this medium.  The Pretty Peony background stamp was a perfect way to just let me coloring flow.

I kept this card really simple by trimming down the floral panel and layering it with fog card stock from Simon Says Stamp.  I placed the panel on my typical white card base.  Just for some added interest I splattered on gold paint with a paint brush and added some Nuvo vintage drops.

Here is a quick closeup of the finished card.  So what do you think?  If you don’t have this background stamp, I would highly suggest it to practice your floral watercoloring with.  It’s a very forgiving image to color.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I have more cards made using Simon Says Stamp products you can check out here. I’ll see you guys back here soon.  Sending hugs and love to all.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Mid Summer Blues

August 19, 2019

Hey everyone.  I’m back sharing a quick card I made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This challenge is to use mid summer blues and I’m so happy I played along.  I finally pulled back out my Nuvo mouse from my stash and the really cool facetted stencil from Simon Says stamp to create this card.

For today’s card I used three Nuvo mousses for my color combination.  I tinted the pearl white down with a little bit of alcohol ink in blue from Brea Reese.  I stenciled the mousse over the faceted stencil from Simon Says stamp with a palette knife.  While this panel was drying I die cut out the sending hugs sentiment from white and silver foil paper.  I stacked my dies one on top of the other for dimension.

To finish off the card I layered the stencil panel on light blue card stock and then onto a white card base.  I added a few matte sequin and my card was complete.  I have a tutorial up using this stencil in a video I shared on my Youtube channel.  Head on over and check it out.

Love the simple look of this card.  Shopping list included below. It can either be sent to a female or male friend due to it’s simple color palette.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I’ll see you back here soon!

The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge – Let’s Color

February 5, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m sharing a card I colored for the Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge.  The challenge is hosted by the incredible Kathy Racoosin the owner of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  During this challenge you allow yourself a little bit of time each day to color.  We never “judge” how you color but support you in how you gave yourself the time to color even if it’s just for 10 minutes a day.  Coloring allows me to refocus my energy into creating something I love.

For today’s card I used Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers 2 along with the Altenew Sincere Greetings stamp set.  I think the gorgeous flowers and dainty sentiment work well together.  I used my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils to color this image.  Here are the colors I used:

  • Flowers I used 130, 131, 132, 185 and 101.
  • Leaves I used 165, 172, 278 and 101.
  • Background 271 and 272.

Adding white little dots with my gelly roll pen to add some interest to the background as well. This helped to keep my card clean and simple without any additional bulk.

To finish off my card I pulled out some older Stampin Up paper in hunter green to layer this panel on and adhered it to a white card base.  I used the same card stock to stamp out the greeting in versamark and heat set it with arctic white embossing powder for Ink On 3.  That will wrap up my card for today. Make sure to join in on the challenge over on Instgram or on The Daily Marker Facebook page.   I’ll see you back here Thursday with another card.
