Holiday Card Series 2019 Day 3 – Concord & 9th

November 19, 2019

Hey everyone.  It’s Day 3 of the Holiday Card Series. I am your host today. I hope you are enjoying the series so far and you are getting inspired by our guest designers.  Today’s cards feature products from Concord and 9th.  Concord and 9th is a company I adore.  Their products are amazing and so creative.   The owner Angie is one the sweetest people I know.  I love her dedication to the crafting community and supporting crafters is genuine.  Thank you Angie for supporting me again this year. Let’s get into the tutorial.

For my first card I used the Stocking Stuffers stamps and dies from Concord & 9th to make a cute stocking card with a colorful snowflake background.  This card was super easy to pull together and I love the color combos on this one.

Concord & 9th Stocking Stuffers

To tone down the brightness of my background panel I used a sheet of vellum.

For my second card I used the Merry Shapes stamp set and die. These stamp and die combo make very clean and simple cards that WOW your recipients.  Keeping the card to just two colors really lets the image stand out.  Repeating a pattern across a card is a simple way to mass produce your holiday cards.  I stamped the image first with Versamark ink on navy card stock.  I heat embossed the images with gold embossing powder.  Next I die cut out image with the coordinating die.  Setting these pieces aside I began to work on the sentiment.

Concord and 9th Merry Shapes

Keeping with the clean and simple look I stamped the sentiment on navy card stock, heat embossed it in gold embossing powder and glued into onto a strip of gold foil paper. Now it was time to put my card together. Starting with a white card base, I layered on navy card stock.  To bring in some gold I pulled out my neutral foil pack and used the gold paper so I could layer another piece of navy car stock on top. I adhered my die cut shapes across this panel with foam tape and trimmed down the extra bits hanging off the sides.  For the sentiment, I popped it up with foam tape as well.

This panel was now ready to for the card base. To finish off the card I glued down a few flat back sequins on several of the open circle areas on the card.  Super easy card to make multiples of.  I’ve linked the products below that I used on these cards.  Thanks for stopping by today. See you back here soon.

Shaker Card – Shaking Up My St. Patrick’s Day Birthday Card

March 9, 2019

Hey peeps.  As promised I’m shaking up my St. Patrick’s Day birthday card for my sister.  I mean who doesn’t love a great shaker card?  If you missed my card from yesterday you can check it out here.  This card will be for my twin sister again because our birthday is on St. Patrick’s day (lucky us) and I always try to incorporate green into our cards. IF you’ve missed any of my other shaker cards, you can find them here.

For my card today I’m pulling out all the stops.  Overload of green and sequins?  Yes, please.  This card was super easy to create and would be perfect for spring as well.  I mean look at all that beautiful green on this card!! 🍀 I’m in love with this color combination of twisted citron, mowed lawn and lucky clover distress oxide inks.

Let me give you a closeup of all that marvelous green sparkly sequins and bits.  OH MY!!! 😍

Working My Green With A St. Patrick’s Day Deco Foil Birthday Card

March 9, 2019

Hey peeps.  I’m working my green today making a St. Patrick’s Day Deco Foil card.  My birthday is on St. Patrick’s day and it’s a special on this year because my twin and I are turning 50!  Yes we made it to this fabulous age and I couldn’t be happier.  You see when I turned 40 I was diagnosed with colon cancer.  It was the scariest time of my life and for my family.  We were so fortunate that the cancer was easily removed and I am almost 10 years cancer free.

Anyway back to the St. Patrick’s Day card for my sister. I started with a beautiful blend of distress oxide inks for my background.  Next I added some splattered gold splatter to the background as well.  Wanting to pull in some beautiful gold foil on my card, so I grabbed my deco foil foam adhesive sheets and foil sheets and got busy.

My completed card looked great with all the gold and green.  Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day. You can see more of the deco foil in action on this video I made during my holiday card series.

Holiday Card Series 2018 – Day 6

November 16, 2018

Hey peeps. We are on Day 6 of the Holiday Card Series. My card today will be featuring Concord and 9th again as I’m so in love with their Christmas and Winter themed products. I’m using the Ornamental stamp and die bundle and some sparkly paper.

This die will fit the front of a card panel with little room to spare and that’s what’s so great about it. It can be the key element to you card with little work. Add a simple sentiment and you are done.

Holiday Card Series 2018 – Day 5

November 14, 2018

Hey peeps.  I hope you have been enjoying the tutorials I have so far for you.  Today is Day 5 of the Holiday Card Series 2018. I’m sharing a really cool stamp set and die bundle from Concord and 9th today.  I LOVE how this card turned out as it’s dimensional and super cute to boot. If you missed any of the card series to day you can find all the videos here.

This card will fit into to a regular size A2 card envelope however, when the recipient opens it, it will pop up and stand on it’s own.  Such a cool way to wow a recipient.  The stamp set and dies are called Christmas Cottage.  There are a few measurements you need to be aware of.  You will need three pieces measuring 5 x 3 and one measuring 6.75 x 4.25.  Now if I totally just confused you, it looks like this. This is cut from a 8.50 X 11 piece of cardstock.

If you are using designer paper (which is lighter paper for any of these pieces, make sure to adhere them to a stronger cardstock so that the card holds up.  I’ll share this with you in the tutorial.

Here’s a quick tutorial.  You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I’ve used affiliate links for your convenience at no cost to you.

Have a great day everyone.  I’ll see you back here for Friday for another day of holiday inspiration.
