Z Fold Valentine Card: Valentine’s Day Card Series Day 4

January 24, 2022

Hey everyone. Sorry for the delay of the card series. I wasn’t feel well for a few days. Thank you for your understanding. Okay today’s card is a fun an easy Z Fold card. I’m using products from My Favorite Things for the tutorial card and the bonus card. The color palette was pulled from the MFT Sweet Plaid 6×6 paper pad. I love when I can use my pattern paper to pull colors from. It makes creating a color combo so much easier. Here is the first card I created in the tutorial. I love how easy it was to pull this Z Fold card together.

This is such a happy color palette. And I think it would work great for spring cards too.

For the bonus card I used the same paper this time I pulled more of the teal into the color combo with light ink blending. The center heart is made from the Heart Extraordinaire stencil set. As for the sentiment, I used the You Are So Loved stamp also from MFT.

Now this is a super cute card you can make and mass produce by just switching out the pattern paper.

You can watch the tutorial here or you can visit my Youtube channel mzdanajoy. All products used are linked below by an affiliate link at no cost to you.

Thanks for hanging out with me today. I hope I have inspired you today with my cards and color palette.  See you back here for another Valentine’s Day card.

Heart Turnabout Background: Valentine’s Day Card Series Day 3

January 19, 2022

Hey everyone. Welcome back to day 3 of the Valentine’s Day Card Series. The color palette for today is very retro and I love it. This has been one of my favorite color palettes for a while now and I even want to use it in my house now. LOL We are working with the Heart Turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th today along with a quick and easy sentiment. If you missed the start of the card series, you can visit day one here. Let’s get into the card.

Like I mentioned we are using the Heart Turnabout stamp to make a pretty background. The ink colors today are from Concord & 9th and they are Aqua Sky, Marmalade, Stardust and Wheat. This color palette will work for masculine or feminine cards.

Adding a little bit of dimension on the card by die cutting out the center with the Hero Arts Infinity Hearts dies gives the card a pretty eclipse look.

You can watch the tutorial here or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy. Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you.

Like I promised, here is a bonus card I made using the watercolor background. The panel was created using the same colors but instead of inks, I used liquid watercolors in the same colors from Concord and 9th. For this card I used the Waffle Flower Stitchable Pinking Heart die for my focal point. Stitching has become another hobby I’m really embracing. The pattern for this design was easy to create by just shifting the colors in the design.

DMC floss was my go to thread for the stitched heart. Here are a few color combos in the same palette you can use for stitching.

DMC726, DMC741, DMC779, DMC3761
or
DMC744, DMC3854, DMC3862, DMC747

I decided not to place a sentiment on this card and just let the beautiful stitching shine through.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed your visit. I’ll see you back here tomorrow for more Valentine’s Day card inspiration.

Mix Media Valentine Card – Valentine’s Day Card Series Day 2

January 18, 2022

Hey everyone. Welcome back to day two of the series. We are working on mix media valentine cards. Mix media really scares me for some reason, however in today’s tutorial I’m going to embrace it the best way I know how. Ink and water will do the trick. The term mix media is really just using different mediums to create something pretty. So that can be anything from ink to paint to glitter. As long as you have at least two different mediums, you have mix media. Really simple right.

I’m using Hero Arts Hero Hues today as I know they work well with water and create beautiful cards. As I was working on this card I really loved how I was able to create texture without using any thing more than the ink, water and a piece of acetate. I paired up the pretty background with a bold print stamp, a few dies and a simple sentiment.

Mix Media Valentine Cards

The soft color of the background works so well with the lines of the Hero Arts Chained Linked Fence Bold Print stamp. Also the Chain Link Fancy Die is the perfect addition to the card for a little bit of raised texture.

Adding a touch of silver to my card with silver matte cardstock for my lock from the Locks Fancy die set from Hero Arts as my center piece on my card. Pulling in all the ink colors for my sentiment keeps my color palette flowing.

I have a couple bonus cards for you as well to show you how else you can use the color palette. This simple colored gradient heart made from Hero Arts glitter cardstock, Hero Arts Infinity Hearts die and the same color inks I used for my background take on a totally different look.  Keeping the background simple with an embossing folder makes the heart stand out even more.

And why not use one more medium today. I pulled out my Copic markers to color in this adorable image from Woodware Craft Collection called Valentine Gnome. I have to say, I’m pretty smitten with this card. The Copic makers colors used are:

E11, E13
R32, R43
BG02, BG07
Rv13, RV21
Rv19, RV99
T3, T5, T7
Prismacolor Pencils for added depth

(Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you)

Hey everyone. Day 9 is here of the Holiday Card Series. I’m featuring products from Scrapbook.com. By using the Ink Combos Guide, I will show you how to use the colors from the guide with paper instead of inks. Remember the combo guide is a reference of colors that work well together. So if you limited on your inks and how a ton of cardstock, you that instead. Let’s check out the cards.

The first card is featuring the Scrapbook.com Christmas Foliage stamp set. This is a slimline stamp set perfect for filling up a card panel. The color palette today is number 10 in the guide.

Now my second card, I pulled the same colors in cardstock to create my color palette. By using the slimline cardstock paper pads from Scrapbook.com I was able to create the card without using any inks as my color. You’ll see just how easy this card was to create in the tutorial.

You can watch the tutorial here or over on my Youtube channel. All product used are listed below.

I can’t below tomorrow is already the end of the holiday card series for this year. I’ll see you back here then! Have a great day everyone.
