Hero Arts Spring Catalog Release 2023

February 20, 2023

Hey everyone. I’m super excited to share with you the new products from the Hero Arts Spring Catalog release. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. This catalog has so many amazing new products and the cover might just be one of my favorites. Be ready to be inspired. Let’s get into the cards.

For my first card I used the Color Layering Dove. This stamp set makes beautiful clean and simple cards. Paring it with a pretty Leaf and Floral stencil really made this card stand out.

Card two I went all out colorful with this card. I used the new Hero Arts Garden Critters.  This card was such a joy to make. By pairing it with a sunburst stencil also from Hero Arts, my card just screams spring.

For this card, I really wanted to make a bold statement and boy this card is a statement for sure. The background of this card was made using the new Hero Arts Overlapping Hexagon Bold Print. The pop of hot pink and gold really makes this cards shine. I kept the card simple by just adding a simple birthday greeting from the Hero Arts Yay! Birthday stamp set.

Now this one was so easy to make and I love how it turned out. The stamp set used on this card is the Hero Arts Plant Metaphor stamp set. Remember, if you have a stamp set with smaller images, create a beautiful background. By keeping the card layout really simple, your eye is drawn directly to the center of the card.

Okay for my last card, I used the beautiful Esaplier Fruit Tree Bold Print. By pairing it with a great birthday sentiment and candle, this card is a full celebration in it self. (Check out those blog colors) LOL The sentiment is from the YAY Birthday stamp set.

I hope I have inspired you with my cards today by using products from the Hero Arts Spring Catalog release. They really were so much fun to make. We would love to see what you create with the new spring catalog products. Make sure to tag Hero Arts on Instagram when you do.

This month we invite you to go on a celestial fantasy adventure with us! Our December release is full of stars, galaxies, moons and clouds. The playful December My Monthly Hero kit, with its adorable space cadets, is perfect for birthdays, encouragement, or simply sending a friendly hello. There’s also the perfect cling stamp for your interstellar backgrounds, a gorgeous Rose Gold pigment mini ink pad, and four half sheets of our ever-popular Pitch Black cardstock!

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero December 2022

Galaxy overload on this card for sure. LOL I used Hero Arts Deep Ocean and Amethyst Core Inks for the background. For the black piece in the middle, I used Hero Arts Black Watercolor Paper with Iuille metallic watercolors. You will see in the tutorial just how perfect these Hero Arts inks work with these metallic watercolors

You can watch the tutorial here or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy. Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you.

For my bonus card today I used the Hero Art Orbit stamp set. Using the Hero Arts Oval Infinity Dies, I created a mask to first blend on Hero Arts Azalea and Lemon Drop inks in the center of a piece of Hero Arts Dove White Cardstock. Once the blending was complete, I started on the background.

Hero Arts Orbit Stamp Set

Using the oval that was cut out, I place it over the colorful area so I could blend the background.  The background of this card was made using Hero Arts Licorice Reactive Ink along with the Hero Arts Shimmer Spray in Iridescent. Next it was time to heat emboss the Orbit stamp onto the colorful oval using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder.

I really love how this card came out. A small sentiment stamped on Hero Arts Papaya Cardstock in Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment ink and heat embossed in clear embossing powder.

To finish off the card, I used a few little iridescent stars I had in my stash and placed this panel on a side folding Dove White card base. We will give away a $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, December 11th at 11:59pm Pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week. Thanks for stopping by everyone. Next on the hop is Daniel. Have a wonderful day and I’ll see you back here soon.

Holiday Card Series 2022 Day 1: Hero Arts MMH November 2022

November 7, 2022

Welcome to the Hero Art My Monthly Hero blog hop for November 2022. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. Tis the season… for making holiday tags and decorations! Our November My Monthly Hero release is packed full of darling products you can use to create handmade ornaments, tags, cards and more! The kit includes a large set of 31 scene-building dies that can be combined in countless ways. There’s a message set featuring holiday essentials. The kit is rounded out with ribbon and sequins – the perfect finishing touches for your tags or ornaments!

Kit Contents:
3” x 4” Clear Set
Ornament Building Fancy Die Set
1-3 yards ribbon
6 sheets acetate 5×6
Sequins – snowflake mix
6 white paper 5.5×8.5

Make your gift tags a breeze this year. With my creative juices flowing, I decided to step out of the box and do non traditional holiday colors for my tag. Since I’ve been living in Florida and we seem to only have one season, making brighter holiday cards and tags has become a thing for me. LOL

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero November 2022

By using Hero Arts Reactive Inks, being super colorful and bright is easy. For my color combo I used colors which you would see in a sun set. The warm shades of yellow, oranges and pinks is perfect. There is a die that cuts greenery for your tags, however for my tag, Hero Arts Charcoal ink worked magically.

Remember that reactive inks reactive with water. Instead of water, I used the Hero Arts Iridescent Shimmer Spray. I really wish you could see the sparkle on this tag.

I have a tutorial sharing how this tag came together. You can watch it here on the blog or over on my Youtube channel.

For my extra projects, I used the new Hero Arts Mug Tag Fancy die. I mean how cute is this mug of hot chocolate look? When the weather gets a little chilly here in Florida, I love a great mug of hot chocolate.

The inks I used on my mugs were Hero Arts Crimson, Cranberry, Fresh Lawn, Pine, Lemon Yellow and Spicy Mustard. Making pretty ombre mugs makes gift giving fun.

These tags have a TON of sparkle by using the shimmer mist and the Hero Arts Snowflake Glitter.

Thanks for stopping by today. Next on the hopis Daniel. Don’t forget to comment for a chance to win one of the gift certificates. Have a great day and I’ll see you back here soon.

August 2022 Bold & Beautiful Release Blog Hop

August 4, 2022

Welcome to the Altenew August 2022 Bold & Beautiful Release Blog Hop & Giveaway. You should have arrived here from Tania’s blog. Be bold, and be beautiful! This release includes fabulous florals, a geometric background, and even a set of sentiments perfect for the bibliophile in your life! We know you will love creating all kinds of inspiring projects with the stamps, dies, stencils, and embossing folders in this release. It’s time to get crafty!

This release was really fun to play with so let’s get into the cards. I made a load of cards today so I’ll start with the one I made the tutorial for. This card I’m featuring the Altenew Linear Lines. A beautiful background stamp that makes any card look marvelous. You can heat emboss, stamp or make a simple watermark on a card with this great stamp.

Altenew August 2022 Bold & Beautiful Release Blog Hop

Within the tutorial you will see how simple this card came together with just a bit of gold embossing powder. A simple sentiment from the stamp set along with the Altenew Just Leaves dies really finished off this card nicely.

You can watch it here or over on my Youtube channel. Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you. (Some items were substituted in the product links are some products were no longer available.)

Next let’s take a look at the card I made using the new Altenew Arch of Flowers stamp set and coordinating die. I absolutely LOVE this stamp set. As you can see from below I made three cards using it.

This card made using the Altenew Arch of Flowers stamp set and Altenew Alcohol Makers on pink cardstock. Starting out by stamping the image on pink cardstock in black ink, I then colored the image. Using pink cardstock my background color was already there. Make sure to use marker colors that won’t look muddy or won’t look good with an undertone of pink. I die cut the image again and colored just a few flowers and leaves.

By fussy cutting out just a few of the flowers and leaves, dimension was added when I popped them up on the card. Soft pearls and faux white stitching using a white gelly roll pen was a small addition I thought the card needed. Keeping a clean sentiment was perfect for this card and a simple white card base.

For my next card, I used the coordinating Arch of Flowers Simple Coloring Stencil with my Altenew inks. For a dramatic shading, I used the markers close in color to draw a thick outline around the flowers and leaves. Again I used the coordinating Arch of Flowers die to I could pop the flowers. To keep the card simple, a stenciled card base using the Altenew Mighty Corners stencil in a light warm gray on a white card base made the flowers really stand out. A simple hello was all this card needed for a sentiment.

Now for this card. I REALLY wanted to see what this would look like on black watercolor paper embossed in gold. And oh my WORD!!! I used metallic watercolors and I have to say, this is my favorite card. The sentiment is from the Altenew One Go Birthday Greetings.

And for my final card, the Altenew Intricate Mandala stencil was used with shades of  pink, yellow and aqua inks. Adding a top layer of  sparkle paste set these colors nicely. Next it was time to fussy cut this mandala out and place it on a black card panel. A simple birthday greeting from the Altenew One Go Birthday Greeting stamp set with the coordinating die was placed on top of the mandala. I added white dots around the mandala and at the top and bottom of the cardstock. I placed this onto a white card base and added just a few gems to finish off the card.

Let’s talk about the giveaway. To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $25 gift certificate to 8 winners! That’s a total of $300 in prizes. Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 08/10/2022 for a chance to win.

Altenew will draw 10 winners randomly from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 08/11/2022.

Thanks so much for stopping by today for the  Altenew August 2022 Bold & Beautiful Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. Have a great time on the hop. See you back here soon.
