Hero Arts My Monthly Hero March 2022

March 7, 2022

Hey everyone. Welcome to the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero for March 2022. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. Who’s ready to be their own Picasso? This kit has me feeling all artist like. The die is FABULOUS in the kit. It will work with so many smaller stamps we may have in our stash.

Take a trip to the art museum with the March My Monthly Hero release. The main kit features Abstract Expressionist art in the form of paint splatters. Stamp them with your favorite inks, or to mimic the bold look of acrylic paint, emboss them with the four vibrant embossing powders included in this kit. We’ve also included paper with the feel of canvas for creating your masterpieces, and the kit is rounded out with a fantastic cover plate die of the art museum patrons gazing at your work of art. Just imagine all the things you can frame with this die!

• 4″ x 6″ Clear Stamp Set
• Fancy Window Die
• 4 Embossing Powders in Goldenrod, Orange, Blue, Purple (1/4 oz. each)
• Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink Cube
• 2 Sheets Extra Thick Canvas Paper (4.25″ x 5.5″)
• 1 Sheet Canvas-textured Paper (5.5″ x 8.5″)

I am so excited to use this kit today and to share with you a quick tutorial on how I made these two cards. Get ready for happy neon colors. Pairing the neon colors with gold makes one striking card.

The awesome fancy die in this kit makes it so easy to change out your “framework” with coloring in the images and frame.

Before we get to the tutorial here is an extra card I made using an add-on from the release. This is the Lifestyle Frida Kahlo die set. Oh I must say I LOVE how this turned out. I paired the ties with the Hero Arts Flourish Sun Stencil and my Copic makers.

Here is the tutorial. You can view it here or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy Affiliate links have been used at no cost to you.

Hero Arts Spring Catalog 2022 Blog Hop

February 15, 2022

Welcome to the Hero Arts Spring Catalog 2022 blog hop. You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. Today I’ll be sharing card inspiration using newly released products from the spring catalog. So let’s get into the cards shall we?

The first card is featuring the Flowers In Vase stamp set. This stamp set has the large flowers and nine sentiments. Also available are the coordinating frame cuts and layering stencils. The flowers are a wonderful graphic design and they fill up a card nicely. Pair this stamp with a simple background stamp like the Passing Clouds Bold Print to make a simple yet elegant card.

For my next card, I’m still working with florals. The simple Tulip Bouquet has seven sentiments in the set and a few little critters. It also have a coordinating frame cut and color layering stencil. Within the catalog there are coloring suggestions to make your card making super easy. So if you don’t have the new Spring Catalog 2022 I would suggest picking it up as it’s full of inspiration.

And my last card today is featuring a sentiment from the Let’s Celebrate stamp set. We all need a little bit of celebrating every now and again and this stamp set is perfect for those style of cards. I paired one of the sentiments with the United People Bold Print stamp. By ink blending the background this card came together in no time.

The simple sentiment really makes the card stand out.

Next on the hop is Daniel. We will give away THREE $50 gift cards, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, February 20 at 11:59pm pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week. Have fun on the hop and I’ll see you back here soon.

My Monthly Hero February 2022

February 7, 2022

Welcome to the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero for February 2022. You should have arrived here fro Channin’s blog. Surrealism design is a 20th-century avant-garde movement in art and literature which sought to release the creative potential of the unconscious mind, for example by the irrational juxtaposition of images. The My Monthly Hero February 2022 captures that design entirely.

For my card I went with a beautiful and simple design to pull your eye into the center of the card. Before I get ahead of myself, let me show you what you get in this month’s kit. Our February My Monthly Hero release was inspired by the art of the Surrealist masters and the magical imagery of dreams. Let your imagination soar with the playful drawings as you arrange your own creative scenes. There are nine different messages to include on your card or project, and the kit is rounded out with black watercolor paper, a water brush, and a custom Daniel Smith watercolor paint palette.

My Monthly Hero February 2022

Kit Includes:
• 6” x 8” Clear Stamp Set
• 15 Coordinating Frame Cuts
• 2 Sheets of Black Watercolor Paper (5.5″ x 8.5″)
• Watercolor Dot Dream Palette (18 Dots)
• Water Flow Brush
Kit Value: $75
Kit Cost: $34.99

Pre-order your kit today – we estimate kit shipping will begin Friday, February 11th and continue throughout the following week. Also don’t forget the kit subscription you can do each month.

Okay back to my card. Compared to yesterday’s sneak peek card, you can totally see how you can take this kit from dark and moody to light and airy. Pairing the  kit with the new Star Branches stencil was a fun addition. And I kept the background soft by using light pressure while stenciling with Hero Arts Soft Brown ink.

In the kit you will receive a waterbrush. I have a tendency to gravitate to watercolor brushes that I can dip in water since I feel like I have more control. However, having the waterbrush that contains the water, makes it easy cardmaking.

The watercolors I used for this card were Permanent Red, Mayan Yellow, Green Gold, Manganese Blue Hue, Ultra Marine Red, Rose Madder Permanent and Iridescent Gold.

A tutorial is available showing how to make this card. You can check it out here on the blog or over on my Youtube channel.

For the bonus card, I used the new Hero Arts Looking Glass Hot Air Balloons dies. These layering dies make card making so much fun. They become the focal point on your card with simple die cutting. I blended a piece of Hero Arts Dove White cardstock with Hero Arts Pool Party Reactive Ink. Next I die cut the Looking Glass Hot Air Balloons out of dove white cardstock. The backdrop for the hot air balloons was ink blended using Lemon Drop and Taffy reactive inks.

I used a nesting square pierced die to add a from for the hot air balloons. To finish off the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Hero Arts You Sparkle stamp set in Hero Arts Inten-sified Black ink. The colorful panel was adhered to a piece of Hero Arts Pitch Black cardstock and placed on a top folding Hero Arts card base.

And lastly for added interest, I added some dots using a size 10 white gelly roll pen. A simple yet fun card.

Let’s talk giveaways. We will give away a $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, February 13th at 11:59pm Pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week. Next on the blog is Daniel. Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you back here soon.

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero January 2022

January 10, 2022

Hey everyone. I can’t believe that 2021 is already over and we are starting a new year. The Hero Arts My Monthly Hero January 2022 is a perfect kickoff for a very unique kit! You should have arrived here from Channin’s blog. For my card today I have a quick tutorial sharing how to make a sweet moon-lit silhouette card. But first here is a look a the kit.

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero January 2022

The kit includes the following

• 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set
• 3 Coordinating Frame Cuts
• 4.25″ x 5.5″ Fancy Cover Plate Die
• 1 Key Fancy Die
• 4 Ink Cubes (Key Lime Fizz, Taffy, Green Apple, Cup O’ Joe)
• Red Iridescent Gems

Kit Value: $80
Kit Cost: $34.99

Pre-order your kit today – we estimate kit shipping will begin Friday, January 14th and continue throughout the following week.

This card came together rather quickly using just the stamp set from this month’s kit. Within the kit there are layering stamps that create a beautiful tree branch with stunning leaves. However for my card I just used black inks to achieve this moonlit scene.

By using two types of black ink, I was able to create some depth in the image. Also by adding just a touch a navy the moon looks even brighter.

Below is the tutorial for the card. You can also watch it over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy. There are affiliate links used at no cost to you.

We will give away a $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, January 16th at 11:59pm Pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week. Next on the hop is Daniel. I hope you enjoyed your visit today and I’ll see you back here soon.

Morning everyone. I'm up on the @heroarts blog tod Morning everyone. I'm up on the @heroarts blog today sharing a tutorial using the new Hero Arts Tiling Textures stamp set with the Gold Hero Wax. This wax goes on like butter and once dried it's wonderful to stamp on.

One of the tiles in the stamp set reminds me of honeycombs, so of course I needed to pull out cute bees from the Hero Arts Beelieve stamp set. It's a match made in heaven.

Head on over to the Hero Arts blog for more photos and a link to the tutorial. I also have a detail write up sharing how this card was created as well. Have a great day everyone.

Happy Friday everyone. I hope you're having a grea Happy Friday everyone. I hope you're having a great evening. Have you seen the @simonsaysstamp Dream Big release? Oh it really makes my heart happy.

I had the chance to color up these adorable unicorns from the Born the Sparkle stamp set. I mean these unicorns are just too darn cute. My medium of choice were my Copics makers. I decided this card need some dimension, I stamped the unicorns and clouds once on my panel card stock and again on a separate piece of card stock so I could color them. Next I fussy cut each one out to pop them up on my card.

This card really does make my heart happy. Unicorns for the win! Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
