Hello everyone and welcome to the Hero Arts CommUNITY. My card today is featuring the Rainbow Heroscapes from the Hero Arts Unity Collection. This collection is very near and dear to my heart. With this being the first day of Black History Month, it was the perfect opportunity to showcase the Unity Collection.
The story behind the Unity Collection started off with a conversation between Hero Arts, Pocono Pam and myself. There was a need for people of color to feel included in the paper crafting community as there were many spaces where people of color were unrepresented as contributing artist to the community. In a conscious effort Hero Arts wanted to intentionally add diversity and inclusive within their brand.
Representation is so important, as crafters and cardmakers of color need to feel support, appreciation and respect when expressing their values, experiences and skin tone in their work. We are celebrating this spirit through unity, and this collaboration is a pathway for everyone to see themselves in their art. We are all one united creative community!
Out of these efforts, we created the Celebrating Black Crafters feature for the Hero Arts blog. This feature celebrated black crafters who might has felt they were not seen or represented in the industry that they love so much. By having this feature, we had the chance to meet amazing crafters and see just how much they contribute to the arts and crafts community.
Expanding this celebration was inspiring. We now have the monthly CommUNITY Feature. CommUNITY is about embracing and honoring the creativity of individuals who are often underrepresented. By sharing art from a diverse group of creators, we hope to not only bring inspiration to this papercrafting community we all love so much, but also support and empower individuals to be their authentic selves as they create and share.
Let’s celebrate Black History Month Together. I hope you are inspired to create this month using products from the Hero Arts Unity Collection. We thank you for your support over the years and can’t wait to share more products and card making inspiration with you. Remember, this collection is not just for people of color. It’s here for all to enjoy and share your authentic self with the word.
